CENTRALIA CORRESPONDENT
CENTRALIA- On Sun., May 2, Centralia United
Church welcomed members of the Rebekahs and Odd
Fellows Lodge to worship. Everyone stood while they
entered and placed flags. Rev. Ray Hagerman greeted
them warmly and lit the Christ candle.
Worship opened with singing of the introit, Come
and Find the Quiet Centre, followed by call to worship
and the hymn All Creatures of Our God and King.
Marjorie Johns played the organ and Judy
Mills provided accompaniment on the CENTRALIA NEWS
piano.
Rev. Hagerman led prayer, and then introduced the
hymn Come In, Come In and Sit Down. He explained
that he had chosen this hymn particularly to welcome
all special guests to worship.
During discussions with the children, Rev.
Hagerman noted the importance of names. He
explained the origin of the Odd Fellows name.
Following the choir anthem, Isabelle Mardlin read
the names of members of the Rebekahs who had
passed away during the past year. Bev Skinner also
read the names of members of the Odd Fellows Lodge
who had passed away. A moment of silence followed.
The Scripture lesson, Psalm 8, was read by Sister
Bev Campbell, DGM for the Exeter Rebekahs. Bruce
Delbridge, Champlain for Exeter 67 Odd Fellows
Lodge, read the Gospel lesson from Matthew 6:24-34.
During his sermon, `Seeing the Wonder of God,'
Rev. Hagerman praised some of the beauty that God
has created in nature. Madalene Tasko read the
Minute for Mission. The offering was taken up by
Madalene Tasko and Gladys Buswell. The hymn Spirit
of Gentleness followed. Rev. Hagerman invited all to
stay for a light lunch after worship. Everyone joined
in the benediction, and then watched while the mem-
