LucanArea Heritage and
Donnelly Museum Kick-off
LUCAN - The Lucan
Area Heritage Association
will officially launch their
Heritage and Donnelly
Museum Door to Door
Campaign with an after-
noon of "Fun, Food and
Fellowship" on Sat., May 2
from 1 to 4 p.m. at the
future site of the Lucan
Area Heritage and
Donnelly Museum at 171
Main Street Lucan.

Lucan Area Heritage and
Donnelly Museum. You

arrival of the stagecoach
to the downtown area with
special guests at 2 p.m.

The new community
based museum and cultur-
al centre will see perma-
nent exhibits portraying
the stories of the
Donnelly's and the
Wilberforce Settlement
along with the life experi-
ences of area pioneers of
the later part of the 1800s.
In addition, the museum
will feature rotating
exhibits detailing the mili-
tary, agricultural and ath-
letic accomplishments of
area residents. The upper
floor of the new museum
will be dedicated to host-
ing cultural and artistic
events.
The project consists of a
two story structure with a
replication of the original
facade of the former
Central Hotel which was
lost to fire in the 1990s.
The total proposed budget
for the project is $967,000.
To date the association
has received commitments
for $250,000. Its target is
to raise an additional
$250,000 through its capi-
tal campaign while seek-
ing a matching grant pro -
