Panthers sweep Mitchell in rugby action
EXETER — South
Huron hosted Mitchell for
rugby April 20, with the
junior boys getting the day
off to a good start with a
12-10 victory.
The team played very
hard and showed some
nice improvement. Brett
Crerar and Kyle Bryson
each scored a try and
Justin Knee kicked a con-
vert.
The girls then took the
field and they recorded a
convincing 44-0 victory.
The whole team
showed some nice
improvement as well.
Denice Ritchie and Amber
Caldwell each scored
three tries. Bethany
Shantz also scored a try
as did Ashley Roger.
Julie Prout didn't score
but she did some excellent
hard running with the
ball. Kristylee Varley also
kicked two converts. Well
done girls.
The senior boys finished
off the day with an excel-
lent overall effort.
They played with a
great deal of intenisty and
were full measure for
their 28-0 victory. Curtis
Pfaff played a superb
game running two tries.

try and Jordan Darling
added a try. Justin Muller

Hawks associate coach
Peter Graham had good
things to say about the
local player. "Carly had a
tremendous year for a
first year player while
centreing our top line.
She plays aggressive and
has developed into an
excellent playmaker. She
is considered one of the
top 12 -year-old female
