SH not connected to
water -testing company
EXETER — The
Municipality of South
Huron is not affiliated
with a London business
offering to do drinking
water analyses for free.
As South Huron oper-
ations manager Dennis
Hockey reported to the
Times -Advocate
Monday morning, the
company is dropping
off information sheets
and water sample bot-
tles at area homes
requesting residents fill
the bottle with tap
water.
The company will
then pick up the water
bottle and analyze it.
Hockey said the
municipality neither
encourages or supports
what the company is
doing.
The company, Glacier
Water Treatment of
London, says at the
bottom of its informa-
tion sheet that it is not
affiliated with "any
municipal health
department or water
utility." The sheet also
indicates testing will be
done for the next two
weeks. The company
distributes water treat-
ment equipment and is
using the program "to
hopefully obtain more
business."
