CreditonWl elects officers
CREDITON - The annual meeting of the Crediton
Women's Institute was held April 14 at the home
of RoseMary Neeb. President Anne Cottel wel-
comed all and read `Spring Almost.' The Ode was
sung and the Collect repeated.
A short business meeting was held. Cottel
reported on the Ad Hoc meeting she and Cheryl
MacLeod attended. The board meeting report was
copied out for each member to read.
Members were reminded of the district annual
to be held May 20 in Zurich and the picnic July 6
in Crediton and their duties for these events. The
Exeter Fall Fair list was discussed and committee
members in charge are Neeb, Jean Neil and
Cottel.
Members agreed to again sponsor a Christmas
turkey dinner for seniors of Crediton and area. It
will be held on Nov. 22. Yearly reports were given
and Irene Haugh totalled up the volunteer hours
each member had for the year.
Dolores Shapton was in charge of the election of
officers for the Crediton WI for 2004-05. They are
past -president Alma Davey, president Anne Cottel,
secretary Jane Dearing and assistant Lois
Brownlee, treasurer Alma Davey and assistant
Noella Triebner, District director Alma Davey and
alternate Cheryl MacLeod, Curator Dolores
Shapton, Rose Education co-ordinator Cheryl

Under the direction of Anne Cottel members
made an `Angel in the Kitchen' towel and all had
a finished product to take home. The meeting con-
cluded with a light lunch.

gram to start in Goderich

Quilt show in Grand Bend
GRAND BEND — Quilts are going on display at the
Lambton Heritage Museum.
'The Tradition Continues' and 'Keep Me Warm One
Night' will feature modern pieces as well as quilts and
coverlets from the museum's collection.
The exhibit will officially open April 28 at 7:30 p.m.
The doors open at 7 p.m.

Church news
The junior youth group meets this afternoon,
Wed., April 21 for swimming. Please bring your
swimsuit, towel, permission slip and a toonie.
Bible study continues this Friday morning at 10
a.m.
A Pre -Baptism class will be held on Thurs., April
29 at 7:30 p.m. All adults wanting to be baptized
as well as parents who want their children bap-
tized will meet with Rev. Sheila Macgregor at that
time. Baptism will be on Mother's Day, Sun., May
9.
On Sun., June 13 the regular morning service
will be in charge of the Sunday School with the
Joyful Noise group providing the musical enter-
tainment.
Decoration Day at the Crediton Cemetery is Sun.,
June 27.
