CEREAL SQUARES
In a large bowl place:
2 cups cornflakes
2 cups cheerios or krispies
1 cup peanuts
In a saucepan:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup corn syrup
Boil for one minute and then remove from stove and
add 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 cup peanut butter and stir well.
Pour over cereal and mix till well coated. Press into
a 9 by 13 buttered pan. When cold cut in squares.

Professional baseball is still trying to decide
whether to ban the hormone androstenedione
Icalled "andro"I by the players. The professional
football and basketball leagues have random
testing for steroids, but baseball doesn't yet.
About half of adult men and a quarter of adult women are snorers.
There are many "cures" for snoring out there but only a few have
been proven. If you are overweight, reduce. Don't drink alcohol in
the evening since alcohol reduces muscular tone in the throat,
which adds to the snoring. Smoking can cause swelling to the upper
airways, which impedes airflow, which causes the snoring.
You've heard of the heart pacemaker to regulate heart rhythm.
There wit soon be a stomach pacemaker available. It's implanted
under the skin of the abdomen with two thin wires connecting to the
stomach. This device "fools" the stomach into thinking it's full which
hopefully wit discourage eating and result in weight -loss.
It's spring and time to look into your medicine cabinet and do a
thorough clean out. Don't forget the medications in your purse, bed -
table, kitchen cupboards and fridge. Drugs not in their original
container should be discarded. Discard them in an environmentally -
friendly way by bringing them to your pharmacy. They will be
disposed of safely.

campaign and chairman
Gordon Hill said he is
expecting similar num-
bers this year.
Community Living sup-
ports 110 individuals and
the money raised from the
fundraising drive helps
out for client needs.
None of the money
raised goes to administra-
tion and it all stays in the
area.
Funds raised are used to
pay for personal expense
items of clients.
A request for funding
comes to the General
Manager with recommen-
dations from staff. It is
passed to the board of
directors which decides
whether to pay for part,
all, or none of the request.
Hill said many of the
campaign captains and
canvassers are repeat vol-
unteers who know their
neighbourhoods well.
