Wednesday, Margaret Carroll called on the Davis's. Thursday evening Margaret Carroll and Hazel Davis attended Maundy Thursday Service with the Holy Eucharist and the stripping of the altar at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church in Exeter with officiant and preach- er Rev. Father William Ward. Saturday evening at 7 p.m. St. Patrick's held the Great Vigil of Easter with Rev. Stanley Jay as officiant and preacher for the ser- vice. In the darkness, the fire was kindled and the Paschal candle was lit SAINTSBURY NEWS Enjoy a Spring Fling HENSALL-Kindergarten to Grade 3 students from Hensall Public School made the trek over to Queensway on Wednesday to present an entertaining musical pro- gram for residents. Between the springtime songs, giggles of the chil- dren, and homemade Easter cards, residents had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the program. Thanks to the children, their music teacher Michelle Beaulac, pianist Lynn Bowman and teacher Sherri MacDonald. Queensway's Volunteer Auxiliary met Tuesday morning to discuss upcoming April events. All are hoping for a good turnout of family and friends for Information Night scheduled 7 p.m., Wed., April 14. This will also be an opportunity to find out about the Ontario Long -Term Care Association's Campaign regarding funding direc- tion. Anglican Lay Minister Pat Dobbs led worship for residents Tuesday after- noon with a beautiful Easter message. Belva Fuss was the volunteer pianist. The Christian Reform Singers sang their won- derful Gospel music, Tuesday evening for resi- dents. Thursday morning Father Francis of St. Boniface Church in Zurich led an Easter Mass for the Roman Catholic Residents. Teens of the Varna and Goshen, Brucefield, and Kippen United Churches per- formed for residents Thursday night. They did a variety show made up of singing, stories, dancing and piano music. Congratulations to their leader Carol Coleman for her work with these tal- ented young people. Fun and Fitness, mani- cures, current events, games, quizzes, and visi- tation were other pro- grams enjoyed by resi- dents throughout the week. Other candles and lamps in the church were also lit and the Paschal candle was placed in the middle of the sanc- tuary and will burn at all services from Easter day through the day of Pentecost. Bob and Heather MacGillivray and Margaret Carroll assisted with Scripture readings. Katie -Scarlett MacGillivray and Starr Davis were cross and can- dle -bearer and also assist- ed Rev. Jay. Prayers remembering Courtney MacGillivray and Hazel were said. Service closed with Easter hymn. There is no service at St. Patrick's on Sun., April 18 as Perth Deanery hold their Service of Witness at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Stratford with Venerable John Spencer as guest speaker. Each of the parishes in Perth Deanery will assist with the service. Caleb and Corbin MacGillivray were guests with their friends at Auburn on the weekend. Starr Davis was Friday overnight visitor with her friend near Lucan. A number of families vis- ited with their friends and loved ones over the Easter weekend. Bill and Betty Johnson of Owen Sound called on Hugh and Hazel Davis on Sunday. The Johnsons were returning home fol- lowing the 60th wedding celebrations honouring Ray and Doris Shoebottom of London. The Shoebottoms were long- time residents of Centralia, where they operated the garage. They are wished many more happy, healthy years from all their friends at Saintsbury.
