40 Days of Purpose campaign
EXETER — When
Exeter Pentecostal
Tabernacle (EPT) launch-
es its 40 Days of Purpose
campaign April 24, it will
join a worldwide network
of 2,900 churches with
involvement from more
than one million people.
Inspired by remarkable
stories of spiritual renew-
al and growth, an estimat-
ed 10,000 churches from
60 denominations have
experienced the purpose -
driven phenomena
inspired by a California
pastor's best-selling book.
It seems there are many
people who see their lives
as an endless cycle of get-
ting up in the morning,
going to work, coming
home and then starting
again the next day.
Our church family at
EPT is excited about join-
ing hundreds of others in
and around Exeter in ask-
ing some of those hard
questions, such as: "Why
am I here?" and "Is there
a plan or some rhyme or
reason for my existence?"
We are looking forward
to journeying together to
discover the answers to
those questions.
At the centre of the cam-
paign is the fastest selling
hard cover nonfiction
book in history.
'The Purpose Driven
Life' has sold more than
14 million copies since the
book's release in 2002.
The book's author, Rick
Warren, is senior pastor
of one of America's
largest churches,
Saddleback Church in
Lake Forest, Calif.
Following its 40 Days of
Purpose campaign two
years ago, Saddleback
Church baptized 671 new
believers, added almost
1,200 new members and
increased average atten-
dance by 2,000.
Two years ago the first
1,500 churches that held
a 40 Days of Purpose
campaign reported their
attendance increased an
average of 22 per cent.

During the 40 Days of
Purpose campaign at EPT,
the truths about God's five
purposes for people wor-
ship, fellowship, disciple-
ship, ministry and evange-
lism will be communicat-
ed repeatedly in five ways:
• A "take off" free pizza
and purpose evening with
a video presentation April
24, 6-9 p.m.
• A weekly message by
the pastor.
• A personal or family
daily devotional reading.
• A weekly Scripture
memory verse.
• A weekly small group
or Sunday school lesson.
"People will hear about
how God answers those
questions of purpose for
their lives in many differ-
ent formats," Pastor
Vernon Dean said. "This
will allow for the truths to
sink deeper into hearts,
which is essential for any
permanent life change."
It seems most people
want to believe there is a
higher purpose and plan
for their lives than just
existing.
We want everyone to
discover that plan and live
life to the fullest in God's
way.

Some people say
that hog manure is
more trouble than
it's worth.
Now
that
stinks.
Organic The perfect fertilizer doesn't need
processing. Or sterilizing. Or packaging. And
it doesn't come from a factory. In fact, it
comes from the same place it always has, right
from our farms. Farmers value hog manure as
a fertilizer because it feeds the soil and actually
restores its health, and because any other
choice would have higher cost and less benefit.
Today's hog farm is a smart combination of
science, practical experience and common
sense, where we recognize the real value of the
pure organic fertilizer we produce. The truth is
clear – and anything less than that stinks.
