Career fair at South Huron DHS
EXETER — South
Huron District High
School and the South
Huron Chamber of
Commerce are organizing
a career fair for April 8
The fair takes place in the
large gym at the school
from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Chamber administrative
assistant and special
events co-ordinator Linda
Finkbeiner said the event
is intended to educate stu-
dents on the different
kinds of careers available
to them and what types of
education they will need
to qualify for jobs.
In keeping with the edu-
cational aspect of the
career fair, the school's
hospitality and tourism
class will be planning the
meals and prepare the
food for the day.
Students will also inter-
view three business peo-
ple as part of the process.
"We're trying to make it
all student -oriented,"
Finkbeiner said.
The career fair will also
promote local businesses
to the students and the
event is open to the public.
This is the first time the
South Huron Chamber of
Commerce has participat-
ed in such an event.
Finkbeiner explained one
of the Chamber's man-
dates is to help support
and promote local youth.
Finkbeiner is still look-
ing for businesses to par-
ticipate in the event. If
interested, call the
Chamber of Commerce at
235-4520.
