POLICE BRIEFS Snowmobile stolen from trailer SOUTH HURON — On March 16 at 9:45 p.m. OPP were contacted about the theft of a snowmobile. The officer learned the owner was hauling his snowmobile to a location for seasonal storage. While on route he had a tire on his trailer go flat while travelling on McTaggart Line in South Huron. The victim left the trailer sitting on the side of the road while he went to fix the flat tire. He was gone from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. When he returned he found someone had unloaded his blue 2001 Polaris 800 snowmobile from the trailer. The snowmobile has registration number 895118. Here is a tip on cooking vegetables to retain maximum nutrition. Steam them. Studies done on microwaved broccoli found that most of the flavonoid content and much of the phenolic compounds were reduced. These compounds are responsible for the veggie's antioxidant effects. We know that fibre keeps our digestive tracts regular and helps lower cholesterol. The hottest fibre product right now is flaxseed. About a tablespoonful of whole flaxseed is recommended daily. The seeds must be crushed first and some people find using a coffee grinder works best. Medications in a patch are very convenient and work well. However, not all medications are "patch -friendly" because their molecular size is too large and the skin pores too small. Scientists are working on ways of enlarging the skin openings through ultrasound or electric current then applying a patch. It's still in the research stage but very exciting. More than 80% of patients occasionally miss a dose of their medication. Missing doses can have an effect on the outcome of therapy so it's important to know what to do if you forget to take a dose or two.
