Usborne science fair
Lachlon Macgregor and Derrick Thomson stand in
front of their science project they created for the
Usborne Public School Science fair March I O.The stu-
dents experimented with treated versus untreated
corn, soybeans and wheat to see which would grow
better and found treated seeds did better. The sci-
ence fair was organized by grade 7/8 teacher Terri
Hamather and Grade 6/7 teacher Greg Vader. Close
to 30 projects were worked on by students from
Grades 6,7 and for the last two months in several
categories including brain activity, enviroment and
health. Winning in the junior category were Jordan
Brintnell/Alana Hodgert and Steve Gregus and
Charlie Weber. Winners in the intermediate division -
were Bill Rundle/Robin McKnight, Lisa Horn/Sandra

SOUTH HURON — On
March 1 shortly after 12
p.m. an officer was con-
tacted about graffiti on a
municipal pump house in
Exeter on MacNaughton
Drive. The officer learned
that sometime in the last
24 hours a person using a
black can of spray paint
put pictures and symbols
on the outside wall. Some
of the diagrams include a
fish, flower, and tree
