105 Cards of Thanks
LIGHTFOOT/DARLING - We
would like to extend a HUGE
Thank you to the many people
who helped us get through this
chapter of our lives. When
Mike first became ill in May
2002, we were overwhelmed
by the support given to us - so
overwhelmed. Then in
November 2003 when Mike
relapsed we had all of you
there to help us again and
again we were overwhelmed
and amazed by your continued
support, care and concern.
There were so many people
who rallied to help us get over
the bumps in the road on our
journeys in life. On February
21, 2004 our lives changed
drastically with the death of
Mike and yet again you were
all there for us. You made sure
we were surrounded by family
and friends all the time. The
visits, food, cards and gifts of
support came rushing in and
still are. The sea of people
who came to the funeral to
help us say good-bye to Mike
was so very much appreciated
and a wonderful honour to
Mike. Hoffman's Funeral
Home and Uncle Chub (Grant),
you did a great job in helping
give Mike the farewell he
deserved and we thank you. I
could list pages and pages of
people to thank but you know
who you are and we thank and
appreciate you so much.
Outstanding, supporting, over-
whelming kindness, caring,
amazing - just some character-
istics of our community. As
the Boys and I start out on our
new journey in life we are
comforted to know and so very
proud to be part of such a com-
munity. Thank you all so
much. Love and thanks from,
Todd, Taylar, Kristyn and
"Angel Mike" (11)

OVERHOLT - Life lives on in
the people whose lives he
touched. We will be forever
grateful to all of you who have
walked this journey with us. It
has been a difficult road but we
could not have done it without
you. For those of you who
took the time to call, send
cards, and had Masses said, it
was you who lifted our spirits
daily, reassuring us we were
not alone. We are grateful to
the team of doctors and nurses,
especially Dr. Lam, Dr.
Sorsdahl, Dr. Kerr, Joanne
Kadlecik and clinical nurse
Nancy Gregg, whose care for
Phil was outstanding. We have
great respect for the St.
Elizabeth Health Care organi-
zation as their constant support
and overwhelming empathy is
remarkable. We would like to
give special recognition to
Shelley Hayter, Phil's home
care nurse, for without her we
would not have been able to
care for Phil at home. The out-
pouring of community support
will never be forgotten. To all
who prepared food for us we
are so very thankful. Even
though our hearts were broken,
you nourished our souls. To
Joyce and her staff at J.M.
McBeath Funeral Service,
thank you for your compassion
and professionalism during a
very frightening time. The
flowers, plants, donations and
gifts surrounded us like a beau-
tiful garden and we thank those
who graciously added to those
tributes. We thank God for the
wonderful spiritual support
provided by Father Francis
Thekkumkattil and Father Gary
Ducharme. Throughout Phil's
illness you constantly reminded
us of the power in prayer and
faith, especially during the
Funeral and Mass. We all were
very moved by the wonderful
music provided by Aimee Rau,
Rick Bedard, Debra Overholt,
and Jackie Clausius. It was a
powerful service and each of
you added a very special touch
to Phil's farewell. As well,
thank you to the pall bearers
Jim Bedard, Gary Kline, Mike
Overholt, Jeff Consitt, Gregory
Hassall, and grandson Scott
Overholt. Each of you were
very, very special to Phil and
he would have been so proud to
have you carry him to his rest-
ing place. Many thanks to the
Mennonite Church for allowing
us to host our large family and
many friends in your fellow-
ship hall, and to the CWL of St.
Boniface for the delicious
lunch. Thank you to the
Knights of Columbus; for the
prayer service at the funeral
home was a reminder of Phil's
commitment to his church and
his faith in God. Proudly bear-
ing flowers were Phil's grand-
children, Magen and Ashley
Overholt; Melanie and Stacey
Overholt; Candace, Breanne
and Alyssa Becker; Tyler and
Nicholas Overholt. These chil-
dren were very special to Phil
and it is in them that Phil's
legacy will live on forever.
Thank you from the bottom of
our hearts and with heartfelt
gratitude. Vonnie Overholt and
children; Barry and Karen,
Sandy & Joe, Nancy & Joe and
Dwayne & Jodi (11*)

very capable hands of Bio -
