Total Receipts •= !.--• 2793 head of cattle, 445 lambs and goats. Summary Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. Fancy steers & heifers: 90 to 100 sales to 120, Choice steers & heifers: 82-86, 2nd cut steers & heifers: 74-81. Top quality cows sold $1 to $2 higher with the D3 cows selling $4 to $5 higher. Thursday: The good veal sold $2 to $5 higher while the plain and heavier veal sold under pressure. The lambs sold on a strong active trade at prices $10 higher than last weeks. The overweight lambs sold under pressure. Friday: The calves sold $5 higher with the yearlings trad- ing on a steady market. Steers There were 728 steers on offer. Enoch Martin, Linwood consigned one blue steer weighing 1395 lbs which sold for 120. His overall offering of fourteen steers averaged 1395 lbs selling for an average price of 100.87. Twenty-six steers consigned by Al Benning, Exeter averaged 1443 lbs selling for an average price of 90.57 with his top limo steer weighing 1420 Lbs selling for 108.25. Heifers There were 295 heifers on offer. Johnston Farms, Bluevale consigned one gold heifer weighing 1325 lbs which sold to Norwich Packers for 100. Their overall offering of eighteen heifers averaged 1361 lbs sell- ing for an average price of 84.22.
