Receipts

cattle, 445 lambs and goats.
Summary
Tuesday: The fed steers and
heifers sold on a steady market.
Fancy steers & heifers: 90 to
100 sales to 120, Choice steers
& heifers: 82-86, 2nd cut steers
& heifers: 74-81. Top quality
cows sold $1 to $2 higher with
the D3 cows selling $4 to $5
higher.
Thursday: The good veal
sold $2 to $5 higher while the
plain and heavier veal sold
under pressure. The lambs sold
on a strong active trade at
prices $10 higher than last
weeks. The overweight lambs
sold under pressure.
Friday: The calves sold $5
higher with the yearlings trad-
ing on a steady market.
Steers
There were 728 steers on
offer. Enoch Martin, Linwood
consigned one blue steer
weighing 1395 lbs which sold
for 120. His overall offering of
fourteen steers averaged 1395
lbs selling for an average price
of 100.87.
Twenty-six steers consigned
by Al Benning, Exeter averaged
1443 lbs selling for an average
price of 90.57 with his top limo
steer weighing 1420 Lbs selling
for 108.25.
Heifers
There were 295 heifers on
offer. Johnston Farms, Bluevale
consigned one gold heifer
weighing 1325 lbs which sold to
Norwich Packers for 100. Their
overall offering of eighteen
heifers averaged 1361 lbs sell-
ing for an average price of
84.22.
Fourteen heifers consigned
by Gord Jones, Centralia aver-
aged 1288 lbs selling for an
average price of 85.90 with his
top blonde heifer weighing
1310 lbs selling for 99.

Denfield Livestock Sales
Market Report for Denfield Livestock Tues., March 9.
The market at Denfield traded on a good demand at steady
prices on the good fed cattle with fancy cattle in strong
demand at higher prices and some pressure on the heavy
plainer cattle. Cows sold on a good demand with the good ones
selling higher. Sows and boars sold at strong prices.
Gord Hardy, Lucan sold 9 steers avg. wt. 1497 lbs. avg. price
92.11 all purchased by Norwich Packers.
Harold Carroll, Wardsville sold 15 steers avg. wt. 1549 lbs.
avg. price 89.30 sales to 94.50 purchased by Norwich Packers.
Morley Hodgins, Parkhill sold 13 steers avg. wt. 1491 avg.
price 84.38.
