By Muriel Lewis
GRANTON CORRESPONDENT
GRANTON - Today (Sunday) it looks like spring has
had a bit of a setback, but don't worry ... it's getting
closer.
The Granton -Wesley Church youth
group raised $112 as a result of their
potluck supper and games night on Feb. 28. It is to be
used to buy school supplies for Ethiopia. At the Granton
Wesley United Church on Sun., Mar. 14, the lessons
were from Isaiah 55, 1 Corinthians 10 and Luke 13. The
ministry of music was The Old Account Settled Long
Ago.
Anna (Hardie) McCullough favoured with a musical
Prelude and Emily Young lit the Christ Candle.
The Lenten Bible Study continues on Wednesdays at
7:30 p.m. until April 7 at the church --except this week it
will be held at the manse
The Lenten luncheon series will not be
held this week due to the March break but
will continue on March 24 at St. Patrick's
RC Knights Hall near Lucan at 12 noon. Speaker will be
Lay Pastor Val Hodgins.
At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on Sun.,
March 14 (Lent 3) Christine Downey led the service of
morning prayer with Rev. Dalice Sim assisting.
Elizabeth Hawkins read the lessons. The message was
about speaking gently, being brave in one's belief and
yielding to joy.
A time of fellowship followed the service with refresh-
ments and Rev. Dalice Sim chaired a congregational
council meeting.
