(photo/Mary Simmons) By Pat Bolen TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF LUCAN- The Lucan Irish are one win away from advancing to the next round of the playoffs after a pair of 2-1 wins over the Mitchell Hawks last week. With a 3-1 series lead the Irish will try to elimi- nate the Hawks tonight (Wednesday) in Lucan at 7:45 p.m. Game six and seven if necessary will go in Mitchell March 5 at 8:30 p.m. and March 7 in Lucan at 7:30 p.m. Lucan received goals from Mark Flood and Matt Read Wednesday night defeating the Hawks 2-1. It was another hard fought game Friday night in Mitchell and was tied 1- 1 in the third until Adam Thomson fired the game winner. Jamie Jongsma had the other goal for Lucan. Despite being up 3-1, Randy Campbell said the Irish haven't won the series yet. "Everything we've got, we've expected and we still have one more game to go" said Campbell. Injuries continue to mount for the team with Ryan Giffen the latest to go down with a separated shoulder. In other matchups, Pt. Stanley eliminated Thamesford four straight as did the Exeter Hawks over North Middlesex and Tavistock over Ayr. Lambeth is tied at two games apiece with Mt. Brydges and Wellesley leads St. George three games to one. Hagersville is also up three games to one over Pt. Dover as is Delhi on Burford.
