The South Huron girls were undefeated in their five games, beating Petrolia 2-1 in the Pee Wee C finals Feb. 15. Brett Sararas came up big in the championship game, scoring both of South Huron's goals. Avalon Kerslake picked up the lone South Huron assist in the game, while Karly Bryson was named the team's player of the game. The South Huron girls got things going in a positive way in their first game of the tourna- ment, beating Kitchener 2-1 on Feb. 13. Kerslake scored both goals for South Huron, with Sararas and Ashley Denomme both picking up two assists. Sararas won game MVP hon- ours. In their second game of the day on Feb. 13, South Huron defeat- ed Alvinston 4-1, with two goals coming from Carly Winters and singles from Kerslake and Staci Miller. Bryson, Nadine McCann and Denomme picked up assists. Winters was named player of the game. Games three and four featured shutouts from South Huron goalie Stacey LaPorte, who played in all five South Huron games. In game three on Feb. 14, South Huron downed the Indy Stars 3- 0, with Sararas, Denomme and 2004 SILVER STICK CHAMPIONS k.. LaPorte led her team to another shutout in game five on Feb. 15 with a 3-0 win over Halton. Natasha Cox, Kerslake and Sararas scored for South Huron, while Denomme had two helpers. Single assists went to Sararas, Rudderham, Miller and Mallory Duenk. LaPorte's second shutout of the tournament earned her player of the game honours. The win gave South Huron eight points and top cr spot in Pool B, advancing them to their victorious game against the top team in Pool A, Petrolia. The team's head coach is Steve Sararas, with assistant duties held by Steve McCann. Rhonda Bryson manages the team, while Janice Cox is the trainer.
