Five cottages
forced open
BLUEWATER — On Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. OPP were
called about a cottage break-in on Blue Jay Way in
Bluewater just north of St. Joseph's. According to
police someone had forced open the door to the cot-
tage within the last month. The cottage was ran-
sacked and a quantity of alcohol was stolen.
Officers checked other cottages in the area and
found four others had been entered after doors to the
buildings were forced open. Nothing appears to be
stolen from these cottages, but one cottage had over
$500 damage when the culprit used a blunt object to
damage an appliance inside the kitchen and some
birdhouses were destroyed.
Tracks left near the scene indicate the culprits
arrived by snowmobile. If you can help in solving
these crimes call the Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers at
1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
