There's been much discussion about the merits
of immunization over the past few years. Get
reliable information on this subject from the
following website: www.vaccinesafety.edu It
will put your mind at ease about the safety and efficacy about this
important healthcare service. Immunization is a good thing.
Startling statistic: one in three children born in 2000 will become
diabetic during their lifetime unless they watch their weight and
exercise more.
As pharmacists, we are asked many questions about drugs. A
recent study showed that the top five most asked about drugs were
alendronate, etidronate, (2 osteoporosis drugs), ASA,
acetaminophen, and atorovastin (a cholesterol-lowering drug.)
Just a reminder if you are travelling this winter... Carry all your
medications in your carry -on luggage and bring enough to last a
few days beyond the trip's duration. If you have diabetes or epilepsy,
carry an identification card with this information. A MedicAlert card
or bracelet is good insurance. Call 1-800-668-1507 for more
information about Medic Alert.

Many people called at
the Hopper -Hockey
Funeral Home Exeter on
Tuesday to pay their
respect to the late Barry
Jeffery and also attended
his funeral on
Wednesday. The women
of the church provided
food and fellowship after
the funeral at the church.
Thank you to generous community,
your response was overwhelming
Dear Editor:
What a generous and thoughtful
community! When Susanne
McCarthy and I volun-
teered to help co-ordinate
donations for recent
Dashwood fire victims -
Darlene O'Rourke, Mary Lou
Socholotiuk, Kendra and Rebecca
Slaughter- we had no idea how over-
whelming the response would be. This
community reacted quickly and with
great generosity. Gifts of money, food,
furniture, appliances, linens, time,
gift certificates...and more poured in
from the entire surrounding area. We
know that they are all extremely
touched and grateful for this showing
of care and concern. We too would
like to express our gratitude
for this wonderful act of shar-
ing. To everyone who helped -
you have really shown what
community spirit is all about.
Thanks Again and Happy New Year to
All.
