Thank you to generous community, your response was overwhelming Dear Editor: What a generous and thoughtful community! When Susanne McCarthy and I volun- teered to help co-ordinate donations for recent Dashwood fire victims - Darlene O'Rourke, Mary Lou Socholotiuk, Kendra and Rebecca Slaughter- we had no idea how over- whelming the response would be. This community reacted quickly and with great generosity. Gifts of money, food, furniture, appliances, linens, time, gift certificates...and more poured in from the entire surrounding area. We know that they are all extremely touched and grateful for this showing of care and concern. We too would like to express our gratitude for this wonderful act of shar- ing. To everyone who helped - you have really shown what community spirit is all about. Thanks Again and Happy New Year to All.
