veyed prominent members in our
community asking for their fore-
cast of 2004.Will it be a year of
development, change or challenges
or will it be a year of cutbacks, PERRY
hard decisions or hard work? CASKANETTE
NAME: Perry Caskanette
ORGANIZATION: Deputy Mayor Township of Lucan
Biddulph.
2004 WILL BE A YEAR OF: The half -full cup.
Lucan Biddulph council will be looking at changing
a couple of major things. When people see change,
They immediately see the negatives and vocalize
them. Do not forget to look for the positives as well
and celebrate those as loudly as you do the nega-
tives.
The mayor's initial address focused on several
issues including communication between council and
the people, the structure of the arena board, fiscal
government and I would add garbage to the list. All
of these issues will be met with open, logical debate
resulting in reasonable, thought -driven solutions.
I look forward to serving on this council and I
encourage you to contact me or someone else on
council with thoughts and ideas.

NAME: Dave Urlin
ORGANIZATION: Deputy Mayor, Town of South
Huron.
2004 WILL BE A YEAR OF: everything from cutbacks
to balancing the financial future of our diverse town to
the day-to-day challenges of society with the things
that we have no control over: SARS, BSC, trade wars
and the world economy.
The coming year's challenges and how to meet them:
We will be doing our homework on a number of pro-
jects, sewers in Crediton and Centralia, waste from the
lake, keeping our wells and selling the water, doing
more road work, looking after our buildings, attracting
new development to the south end along Hwy. #4, the
purchase of Huron Park from the provincial govern-
ment just to name a few and there are many others.
Always trying to remember that there is only one tax
payer.
Additional comments: I take this opportunity to wish
everyone in South Huron, from my family to yours, all
the best in 2004.

NAME: Harvey Ratz
ORGANIZATION: South Huron Council
(Ward 1) Member
2004 WILL BE A YEAR OF: Continued
growth as we enter year four of amalgama-
tion.
Being a member of council for the third
year we have many good accomplishments
and many good things in the process stage.
As usual council and staff will have to work
hard to keep tax increases to a minimum and
yet maintain past services and provide ser-

vices as we go into the future that most residents
and ratepayers want. Continue to co-operate with
present and future residents to continue the suc-
cess South Huron has had in building and devel-
opment permit total. The total for 2003 is estimat-
ed at $17-18 million. Continue with residents of
Crediton and Centralia to get government funding
and try to arrive at a solution that is satisfactory
to residents of each village. Continue in our efforts
in getting Huron Park from government owner-
ship to private ownership.
NAME: George Robertson
ORGANIZATION: Councillor Ward 2 Exeter
2004 WILL BE A YEAR OF: The Municipality
of South Huron had three years to bond and
get to know the three wards of Usborne,
Exeter and Stephen could work as a unit.
I think now that municipality will need to
grow and move forward. If this part of Huron
County is to grow and prosper, South Huron
must lead the way. We now have all the tools
in place, a keen workforce, the best equip-
ment for them to work with and the backing GEORGE
of council. ROBERTSON
We as council must focus on keeping South
Huron running smoothly. We must not lose
sight of the existing problems such flooding in
Exeter, making the right decisions on sewage
problems and taking care of the municipality's
water far into the future.
With all this in mind, we must also remember
who will be paying for this.
It will be a year of decisions and hard work.
That being said I would like to take this oppor-
tunity to wish everyone health and happiness
over the holidays and a safe and happy new
year.

Plan H7-3-8816 BY SUSAN BALCOM Stately Family Home Decorative stone and wood trims give a stately look to the exterior of this
attractive two-level plan. Nine -foot -high ceilings throughout the main floor and a beautiful kitchen and great room make the interior
equally impressive. This is a home with plenty of room to accommodate a growing family, overnight guests or a home-based business.
The covered entry leads into a spacious foyer with views into the great room and the terrace beyond. The great room is open to a
contemporary kitchen with a distinctive angled work island equipped with a dishwasher and dual sinks. From here, whoever is doing the
washing up can also watch activities in the great room, or simply enjoy the view of the back yard garden. A boxed out dining area is well -
sized for a large country -style kitchen table. There is also space between the kitchen and dining area for a freestanding china cabinet or a
buffet. The powder room and laundry room are separated from the main living areas, reached either through a door in the kitchen, or
down the hall from the foyer. This hall also leads to the den, a room that could easily double as a guest room. The second level of this
home contains three generously sized bedrooms. The master bedroom suite has a four -piece ensuite bathroom, a large walk-in clothes
closet and a built-in window seat. The two secondary bedrooms share another (three-piece) bathroom. A linen cupboard is conveniently
located just outside the bathroom door. A two -car garage has enough space for a work bench and storage shelves. Access to the home
from the garage is through the laundry, making this room a handy place to shed outdoor clothing. This 1,973 -square -foot home measures
40 feet wide by 60 feet deep. The planincludes an optional unfinished basement. Plans for design H7-3-881 B are available for $484 (set
of 5), $561 (set of 8) and $610 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7.5% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $15.00 for Priority charges
within B.C. or $30.00 outside of B.C. Please add 7% G.S.T. or 15% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and Priority charges.
The 35th Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 300 plans is available for $13.50 (includes taxes, postage and handling).
