Mrs. Andrew F. Hess who has
been for some weeks with Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Hess at Pontiac, Mich., al-
so with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Quimby
Hess, at Sault Ste. Marie, Ont,, re-
turned home last week, after a very
fine visit with these relatives.

While Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Mack
of town were having a little outing
in the Ortwein bush on Sunday, they
ran across a bed of puffballs. The
largest one of which they put in a
fibre carton and brought to our office
and which weighed eight pounds. An-
other one weighing five pounds. They
were of considerable size, and thefttheftcomposition is of a very white tex-
ture, and some, people use them for
food purpose, and they grow mostly
cut of decayed stumps . or decayed
wood.
