Don't Burn the Leaves
The Department advises people
if at all possible not to burn the
leaves which are so plentiful just
now. If you have a garden, and
most people in Zurich have, rake
them up and throve thein on ,your
-•arden soil, and 'better still ,plow or
dig them in. Then it is also ad
visable to have pletitiy of them on
your prennial flower beds, as it acts
as a most wonderful .protection from
the cold winter season, besides it
acts as a fertilizer. Dont be too
fussy about a few leaves blowing
around, as it leaves a nice impress-
ion on our minds that the sunttner
is past which will be followed by the
winter season which we always en-
joy here in Canada.
