At present, several municiPals ities in Ontario, including Toronto, Ottawa and Hamilton are on Day- light Time. Mr. Victor Dinnin, principal the Zurich school, entertained the andience with several moving picture tins. Alvin- Walper, accompanied by rvrrs. J. Turkheim at the piano, led ul'very interesting sing song of Chi.- i4mas Carols, etc., also called upon regitations by the childrenvand with hi pleasant manner he received spl- endid response by the little ones. By this time, :Santa arrived well. prepar- ed and was greeted with cheers, he and his assistants distributed pack- ages of candies, oranges and nuts to all kiddies who came to see him. Santa's visit was sponsored by the local Lions Club of Zurich. OBITUARY Latie Louis Kap:alai-sail Mr. Louis Kalbfleisch died. early on Sunday morning, December s8th, 1949 in his 84th year at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. W. Siro,kein shire,. Zurich. Mr. Kalbflei;en was born 131. Hay •Township on'larch 22, 11(id, the son of Henry Kalefteiech and Louisa Rickbeil. For many years he was associated with his futhor in the saw-miliing mseinese, 'Ir. Kalbfleisch was deeply, interest- si in Hay Township municipal affairs tnd served as C.ouncillor or eight years and reeve for four years. Dun. ing his tenure ,of office as reeve the 'lay Township Municipal System was acquired by the Township. Since 1942 he has lived in retirem- nt in • Zurich, always a robust man, he enjoyed good health until about six months: ago. Surviving him are four daughters, (Mildred), Mrs. H. W. Brokenshirc, (Laura) Mrs. Fred Haberer, (Jose - thine) Mr.-. Victor Deichert, and (Clara) Mrs. Bert ,Klapp, all of Zurich. Also three sons, Edward, living on the ,old homesteaa, Albert of Zurich, and Herbert a isvagaage Professor of Western University, London. His wife, the tate Anna Schumacher, predeceased him seven years ago.
