QUALITY -, PRICE - SERVJO COMMUNITY CENTRE NEWS At a meeting of "The Hay Town- ship Memorial Community Centre and A. C. "Babe" Siebert !Memorial Ar- ena Committee" on Monday night, the Committee was informed that the Zurich Lions Club had voted the suns of $8,000 plus the Lions outdoor rink property to this most worthy project. This is very good news in- deed and the Committee can now go ahea.d with it's plans for .building. It was unanimously agreed that the buil ding be started at the earliest poss- ible time, so that the rink at least can be put to use this coming winter. Naturally, there is not time to com- plete the structure before winter, but it will be advanced far enough to have everything under cover. The remainder of the building can be tak- en care of next spring or summer, The main thing now is to lave the arena ready for skating and hockey as soon as possible. There is still con- siderable money to ,be raised before the Committee's objective is reached and the people of the o';strict are asked to do all they can in this re- spect. This paper has been informed filet the $8,000 donated by the Lions Club .is by no means the end of the CluLos efforts in trying to make the CommunityCentre and Ar- Iena the success it :should and will be. More and more will be turned- over 'to this cause as time goes on. Next week the canvassers will .be calling at your home to wind up the cern- paign for funds. Meet him with a smile and an open purse and the ob- jective of this important project will bo realized easier than you think. There really is nothing to rt, if ev- eliylone of us digs just a little deep- er. To thoee people who have torm- erly lived in the district we again appeal to you for your contribution.
