Mr and Mrs Jacob Merner of De- troit were visitors at the home of the former's brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. W Merner, also calling on friends in the village. Miss Carol Thiel has returned tc her home in town after a lovely vis- it in Detroit with her aunt and un- cle, Mr and Mrs. Morley Witmer. She was accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs, Allan Fraser of Exeter. Mr and (Mrs Ferdinand Haberer, and daughters of town; Mr and Mrs Charles Pelford of Windsor, stave left to enjoy a trip -to visit with relatives in Wisconsin and other parts of the U.S.A. We wish them a safe journey and return home. Mr and Mrs. Gordon Prance cf Exeter and Mr. and Mrs. Charley Hay of town have returned to their homes after a pleasant trip to Nia- gara , Falls and also • attended the 'Canadian. National Exhibition at Toronto on their way home. Mrs. Geo. Farwell and daughter, Helena have returned home after at- tending the wedding of the former's niece in Kitchener. Also visiting 're= latives and friends in that city for a few days over the week -end. A Polio Case Miss Myrtle Hay, daughter oe Mr.` and Mrs. Wm. Hay of Zurich, is at present in Victoria Hospital, London with a case of Polio. We are pleased to report that she is getting along nicely and hope for continued, recovery. INQUEST HELD Inquest of the death of Wilfred Hackney, R.R. 1 K:irkton, who died on July 16 when his car crashed a tree on the Blue Water Ziighway 3 miles south of St. Joseph, was again opened in the Zurich Town Hall on Friday afternoon. The inquest had been adjourned since July 29. ADDITION TO PLANT The Zwicker Seed Co. Ltd., .of Crediton, recently completed an ad- dition to its seed plant that will now permit storage of eight carloads of seed. The company now has a mod- ern plant in every way with better facilities for the handling of seed. -- Exeter 'Times -Advocate. Off To Holland Mrs. Gerald 'Snowden and Mary Ann of •Seaforth, are spending a few weeks with the former's parents, Mr and Mrs. R. Wilgenkamp in Amster- dam, Holland. They left Sunday last for Dorval Airport, Montreal, arriv- ing in Amsterdam early on Monday morning. Mr. Gerald .Snowden is one of the publishers of the Seaforth News.
