BASEBALL NEWS
Zurich Loose to ;Irish Nine
In the playoff game of the series,
on Monday evening the famous Irish
Nine of Lucan defeated the Zurich
ball team by the score of 4-2, which
now' eliminates the Zurich team in
the playoffs. The game was indeed a
very tight one, as owing to a few
bad breaks and a few poor play.,,
the locals let the four runs in that
the visiting got. After this Carlie
Heideman, the Zurich pitcher 'bore
down in the pinches and put an end
to their scoring. Ball who did the
hurling for the visitors was very
good in the tight spots striking his
men out time after time, in fact 16
in all and that is good pitching. This
completes this season so far as the
League playing is concerned for the
local.;, and they have had a very fair
year winning about as many as they
lost. The game was very well atten-
