' ' ELECTION ON MONDAY
'The..Dominion wide election will
be held on Monday next, June 27th.
and everybody who has a vote and
is able to go should honor their
franchise by going out and voting.
There is no quicker way in 'losing
this liberty than by not ,going. Here
in the Huron Perth riding we have
three candidates running. Elgin Me-
Kinley, Stanley Township farmer,
Pingressive Conservative; A. Y. Mc-
Lean; Seafo-th, publisher, the. Lib-
eral candidate, and Rev. J. R. Peters,
MoKillop clergyman, C.C.F Candid-
ate.. We are not trying to tell you
for whom to vote, but we can assure
you all three men are good- clean liv-
ing citizens, and you must pick your
h
coice, and we urge you all to go
out and vote.

As election day draws near no
doubt many voters have arrived at st
decision as to who they are going to
support, but I feel many are still
meditating over the matter, honesItly
and conscientiously desiring to sup -
I part and h'lp to elect the candidate i
i l
that would be the best interests of
all aconeerzned.
I state a few of the reasons why
I Support Elgin McKinley, Progrss-
ive Conservative candidate in Huron -
Perth.
He has the ability or qualifications
required of any man seeking the
office of M. P. After leaving High •
School for farm work and while busy ri
with his business he has always foun;i
time to further his education and is
known by those who know 'him best
as possessing a sharp mind, able,
clever, ever suggesting something
constructive, regardless of hcw per-
plexing or difficult a problem may be.
I support him because he gets
things done. Some men might keep
a chair warm at Ottawa, but we
need a man that can do a big job
well. He . really accomplishes things
in. •business. I believe he would be
the same success in Parliament. He
would get things done. ook
I support him because of his in-
tegrity of character, his clean, manly,
and sportsman like manner, and his
many other splendid Christian qual-
ities which every true Canadian ap-
preciates. He has made and will
continue to make a worthwhile con-.
tribution to the community in which
lie lives.
1 support him because he is a far-
mer. Many voters feel that we have
plenty following other vocations in
our houses of Parliament, but not
enough 'competent farmers. Urban
citizens 'and business men in particu-
lar know that their prosperity to a
great extent depends upon the pros-
perity that rural people enjoy. And
we rural folk don't forget how we
need, the urban folk as we make our
almost daily trip to town..

There will 'be greater agricultural
problems to solve in the future than
ever before. I have been rather am-
used at the other candidates' attempt
to `butter up" the farm voters (I
do not doubt their sincerity as far..
as they would be able) but surely
the man that has spent his life on the
farm and studied their problems is
best • qualified to serve them and
guard their interests.
