Ladies Organize A Ladies' Softball Team has been organized in Zurich and should give the local ball fans some great thrills this summer. The team is being 'managed by Herb Tuerkheim and is being sponsored by the Kalbfleisch Planing Mills. The season opens on Friday, May 27th with the Dashwood Ladies as the opposing team. We hope a good turnout will come and give this team a good, support. At present it has not been decided where the games will be played, but it will be announced in next week's paper. Don't forget the opening 'game, and keep the date open, here in Zurich, on Friday, May 27th with 'the Dashwood ladies as opponents. mid Day ZURICH SCHOOL GROUNDS EMPIRE DAY, MONDAY, MAY Lions Club News With a perfect attendance present, the Lions had a splendid meeting on Monday evening at the Dominion House. The guests were Don Charl- ton, the new member, and Jack Coup - land of the Bank of Montreal Staff. Mr. Ross Hay, who has distinction in the Professional Medical Animal Husbandry, sponsored by the Quak- er Oats Company, entertained the Lions with some picture reels he ran off, along agricultural ,edticational lines. We don't know of ever seeing so much nice beef and pork in the carcass as in these pictures. And after partaking of the usual good hig supper, we filed to see any 'Lions" licking their elrops when tney saw all this fine meat, although in picture The Mate of officers for the (coming Year was given, and will be voted on at a later meeting.
