Mrs. Harrison Finkbeiner and son
Howard attended the wedding of the
former's cousin, Mr. LJuis Feist of
Crediton to Miss Evelyn Huras, of
Stratford, which was held in St. Pet-
er's Lutheran Church in that city, on
Saturday, afternoon at 3.30. The
receiption being heing held in the
church parlor.
Sold Farm •
Mr. Jacob Owtwein has sold his
farm on the Bronson line, south, to
Mr. Ivan Kalbfleisch and immediate
possession is given., Mr. Stuart Thiel
who recently sold his farm on the
Babylon line has leased the Ortwein
farm in will move his effect; thereon
in the near future.
Attended Funeral
Mr. Henry Eickmeier on Tuesday
attended the funeral of his brother,
the late Edmond Eickmeier, who liv-
ed in Logan Township. He being ill
tonly a few days with a heart condit- -----
ion, was 66 years of age and leaves
a son and three daughters. His wife
predeceased a few years ago.

'Mr. Emerson Erb, of the 'Goshen
line, north of town, received a ple-
asant surprize on Wednesday fore-
noon when one of his Holstein cows
gave birth to a female calf weighing
1 I pounds. Both are doing fine.
Wonders have not ceased. The price
of beef should soon be reduced. We
congratulate Mr. Erb on his unusual good useful house, large barn, with

ful in winning two firsts, one second
and one third awards, in • vocal solo
classes, at the Stratford Music Fes-,
tival. On Saturday she topped a •class
of fifteen first prize winners, to win
the "Gordon Scott Trophy" for 1949.
Last year this trophy was won by a
competitor in Hamilton. Two years
ago Paula won an Educational Vocal
Scholarship.
Hensall's Oldest Res. Passes
Funeral services for Hensall's• old,
est resid.nt, Mrs. Catherine Baker,
96, were held on Saturday afternoon
in Bonthron's funeral home by Rev.
P. A. Ferguson. She .died after an
illness of two weeks' at the home of
4 her daughter, Mrs. John Pfaff, on
.*I'hursday. The former .Catherine
Helen Gate, she was bora in Kitch-
1 ener and resided in Cranbrook, .God -
erich, Eseter and Hensall. On Nov-
ember 25th she celebrated her 96th
