A very charming 'wedding took place Saturday, February 5th, 1949 at St. John •Berchman's Roman Cath- olic Church, Lakeview, at East War- ren, Detroit, Mich., when Alphonse Geromette, .oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Geromette, of the Goshen line, north of Zurich, was. united in marriage to Miss Leah Galyn, only child, and daughter of Mr and Mrs. Maurice .Galyn 'of 4715 Eastlawn, Detroit. The bride was given in marriage by her father.They' were joined together in the Holy' Sacrament ,of Matrimony by the Rev. Fathers .Moffat, 'Jepsozr, and Hadley.. Father Jensonofitciating,:-Re74.0at er Mack, a well known tenor, singing professor, sang the Ave Maria during the mass. The bride was beautiful gowned in her train length white satin dress, handmade and three quarter length veil which hung softly over her shoulders, carrying her prayer book with white orchids. Her Maid of Honor was dressed in a gold taffeta dress and a corsage of blue carnations. Her two bridesmaids wore Royal blue taffeta dresses and corsages of yellow carnations. The ring bearer, a 6 -year-old boy, wore a tuxedo and the flower girl, a 6 -year- old, wore a gold taffeta gown. The groom, best man and the two ushers all wore tuxedos. The wedding party and all guests had a marvelous breakfast at the. Roose Vanker Hall, Carville and Har- per, after Mass, ,accompanied by live clergymen. The young marrieds with their bridal escort, parents and clergy enjoyed a wonderful chicken supper at a well known cafe. In the evening at 8 p.m. a reception was held at the Roose Vanker Hall till the wee hours of the morning. There were between 350 and 400 guests, they were treated to the finest bev- erages. A marvelous well known or. chestra for dancing and a sumptuous buffet style lunch•. This lunch would be better called a 110 -course meal with all they served. the Grand Bend hockey team. at Thad f.,ordi, when accidentally he was hit with a hockey stick that gave' his eft eyeball a'teriffiegash. Much laughter developed when. it was found that one of the tables' had their bread "buttered" with the new substitute, Oleo'.
