Opened the meeting with 35 memb-
ers present. After singing a hymn
and reading a Psalm, Rev. Higenill
led in prayer which was followed by
a talk ion Co-operation with the met-
rhbers. The usual business was con-
ducted and decided to prepare Chr-
istmas boxes for the shut-ins.
A vote of thanks was extended to
our president and committees for the
•splendid work done. This was follow-
ed by the election of officers for the'

HENSALL
Santa Claus arrived in Hensall on
Saturday at 2 .p.m. and along with
the free picture shew there was a
big turnout in the town hall, as all
the kiddies received a bag of treats.
Hensel stores remain open every
night this week up to Friday night.
Mr and Mrs, Robertson of London
visited with her parents, Mr and Mrs
W. B. Cross.
The Hensall Branch of the Canad-
ian Legion held their Christmas bin-
go last Friday night and was a big
success. Good prizes were given in-
cluding a door prize.
A very enjoyable gathering was
held at the hc'me of Mr and Mrs Geo
Ingram. The occasion was their I25th
wedding .anniversary. Twelve broth-
ers and sisters attended the dinner.
Mr and Mrs Ingrain were the recip-
ients of many beautiful gifts of sil-
ver.
A very enjoyable evening was held
in Carmel Presbyterian Sunday Soh-
ool Friday last when the parents and.
friends gathered for -a social evening -
'Christmas carols were sung with Mrs
C. Forrest at the piano, followed by
three action songs ,by the% Junior

OBITUARY
:former District Resident
• %Miss Jenny Treffry, of &MTh died
Suddenly from a heart attack at her
lone in Staffa, where she had lived
for the past 20 year. She was born
July 10, 1865 near Plattsville, Ont.,
spent the early part of -her life near
St. Joseph, Ont., 'and later she mov-
ed to Hibbert township west of Cro-
malty. She was the daughter of
Samuel Treffry and Janet Grant.Miss
Treffry was a member of the Church
of God, in Landon, She es survived
by a brother, Edmund, Staffa, with
whom she resided, and a sister, Mrs..
Frank O'Brien, of Staffa, She was
predeceased by two sisters and one
brother. The body rested at the ho-rn
of her nephew, Walter O'Brien,'
Staffa, until the funeral servrce held
in Staffa United Church, with inter-
ment in Staffa Cemetery.
