THE FIRST NOBL
The 'first Noel the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;
In fields where they Lay, a -keeping their sheep,
On a cold winter's night that was so deep;
Noel, Noel, N'oel, Noel,
Born is the King, of Israel.
They looked up above and aaw a great star,
Shining in the East, beyond them so far;
And to all the earth it gave a great light,
And so it continued both day and night,
Noel, Noel,. Noel, Noel,
Born is the King of Israel.
0 LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM
O little town of Bethlehem, how stili we see thee lie;
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark street shineth the everlasting light,
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above,
While mortals sleep, the angels keep, their watch of wond'ring ..;.

GOD REST YE, MERRY GENTLEMEN
God .rest ye merry, gentlemen, let nothing you dismay,
remember, Christ our Saviour was born on Christmas Day,
To save us all from Satan's power when we were gone astray,
O tidings of comfort and joy,
0 tidings of comfort and joy!
In Bethlehem, in Jewry, this blessed Babe was born,
And laid upon a manger upon this blessed morn,
The which His Mother Mary, did nothing take in
tidings of comfort and joy,
tidings of comfort and joy!
Now to the Lord sing praises, all you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood, each other now embrace,
This holy tide of Christmas all others doth deface.
tidings of comfort and joy,

AWAY IN A MANGER
Away in a manger, no crib for His bed,
The little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky, looking down where he lay
The little Lord Jesus, asleep in the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the poor babe awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes.
'I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky.
And stay by my crib watching my lullaby.
0 HOLY NIGHT
O Holy Night, the stars are brightly shining,
It is the nig-ht of our dear Saviour's birth ;
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till he appeared and the soul felt His worth;
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn,
Fall on your knees, 0 hear the angel voices,
O night divine, 0 night when Christ was born;
O night divine, 0 night, 0 night divine.
GOOD KING WENCESLAS
Good King Wenceslas went out on the Feast of Stephen.
When the snow lay 'round about, deep and crisp and event
Brightly shone the moon that night, tho' the frost was cruet,
When a poor pian came in sight, gathering winter fuel.
"Hither, page, and stand by me. If thou know'st it telling,
Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwellings?"
"Sire, he lives a good league hence, Underneath the mountain,
Right against the forest fence, By Saint Agnes fountain"
"Bring me flesh and bring nie trine, bring nie pine -logs hither .
Thou and I twill see him dine, when we bear them thither."`
Page and monarch forth they went forth they went together;
Through the rude winds wild lament, and the bitter weather.
"Sire, the night is darker now- and the wind blows stronger,
Fails my heart, I know not how I can go on longer"
Mark my footsteps my good page, tread thou in them boldly,
Thou shalt feel the winter's rage freeze thy blood less coldly!"
In his master's steps he trod where the snow lay dinted
Heat was in the very sod which the saint had printed.
Therefore, Christian men, be sure wealth or rank possessing,
Ye who now will bless the poor shall yourself find blessing,
