Miss Ina Ropp is a patient at the
Clinton PuNie Ho'spital where she
had an appendix operation, but is
getting along nicely and expects to
be home soon.
Fractures Arm
Mrs. Jonathan Merner, formerly
of Zurich an dnow resident of Sea -
forth, •met with an accident •by slip-
ping on the sidewalk and fracturing
her right arm. She was taken to the
Seaforth Hospital, and is 'now' pro-
gressing very favourably. Her many
friends wish her a speedy recovery.

GUN CLUB MEET
The annual meeting of the Blue
Water Gun Club was held last Satur-
day evening in the Dominion oHouse,
Zurich with about 70 p.
f the
members. present. The main discus-
sion of the meeting was on raising
pheasants. The Department at Tor-
onto will supply 100 live chicks of
these birds, and will supply all the
setting eggs required, and anyone
interested should get in touch with
the officers of the Club. The past
year's slate of officers was re-elected
for another term, and 'Messrs. Chas.
Fritz and Wm. O'Brien, veteran hun-
ters, were elected as honorary mem-
bers.

ABSOLVES CREW OF TRAIN
Exeter — A verdict attaching no
blame to trainmen was returned by
a jury under Coroner Dr. P. J.
O'Dwyer, of Zurich, inquiring into
the death .df Roy Francis, 01, of
Kirkton, who died a week after his
car collided with a Lonaon Huron
and Bruce Railway engine at the
Crediton road crossing Nov. 17. The
jury found Mr. Francis died after
driving his car into the side of the
engine. He died in St. Joseph's Hos-
pital, London, without regaining con-
sciousness, seven days after the ac-
cident.
Showing Fine Pictures
As has• been noticed bly the adver-
tisement of Moving 1Pictures being
shown every Friday and Saturday
evening in the Town Hall, Zurich,
and no mention has been made as to
by whom they are being sponsored.
The pictures have proven to be very
interesting and good, and the repro-
duction, considering the facilities and
equipment used, the reproduction
has been excellent. We beg to an-

ies, and a corsage of red roses. She
was attended by Mrs. Jack Simmons
of Hensall, in a brown gabardine
suit and a corsage of yellow mums.
Jack .Simmons of Hensall attended
the groom. Following a wedding
dinner in London, Mr and Mrs. Har-
kness left on a wedding trip to Nia-
gara Falls.
Farm Forum
The Unique Farin Forum met at
the home of Mr and Mrs Clifford
eepper with 30 members present.The
discussion on "I Hear by the Radio"
was led by Bruce Klopp, event as
"ollows: (a) The radio program we
like best are semi -classical musical
1 programs, quizz programs, dramatic 1
programs, world and local. news and
religious programs. (b) The type
we like least are jazz programs, inu.'r-
ft 1, ler and ghost stories and opera.
112. (a) 'We think we have a good var-
iety of programs over the local sta-
tions. The programs are satisfact-
ory over the CBC. (b) We think
• there• could be less advertising over
religious programs. A spelling match
was enjoyed by all. The next meet-
ing will be held at Mr .and Mrs Hen–
ry &ehillbe's with Mr. Roland Geiger
leading •the discussion on "Let's go'

to the 'Movies." The hostess served
a delicious lunch.
'CANADIAN SOPRANO
Frances James, a native of New
Brunswick, will be guest artist
on the December :13 broadcast of
the Northern Electric Hour, with
Paul Scherman and the concert
orchestra. Miss Jaynes, whose
mellow soprano voice is familiar
to CBC listeners, will sing Delius'
"Twilight Fancies" and a selection
of "The Chocolate Soldier" by
Strauss. The program is heard
weekly over the CBC Trans-
Canada network.
