MORE 4 -F's? NEVER AGAIN
No roan ever again will be reject-
ed from military service because of
a defect that is non -handicapping
in civilian life. Read about the
Army's new plan for making ,great-
er use of manpower in future mo-
bolizations, as told in The American

RATIONING HINTED
Ottawa — Government action to
curb the rising cost of living—may-
happen the return of price controls
on a broader scope and even the re-
imposition of rationing—was hinted
in the Speech from the Throne op-
ening a new session of Canada's Par-
liament on Friday. The speech said
that the Govt. was concerned, with
increases in price which had added to
the cost of living. It was alste em-
phasized of the crippled nature of
the current American dollar shortage
to trade generally, and to European
rehabilitation in particular. As the
smoke of the customary 19 -gun royal
salute to Viscount Alexander rolled
away from Nepean Point, the gover-
nor general stepped -into the red car -
i peted Upper Chamber to open what
. might yet prove to be the last sess-
ion of this 20th Parliament.
