Farm Forum
The Unique Farm Forum met at.
the hdme of Mr. acid Mrs:,Leonard
Merrier on Monday, Dec. 8. The top-
ic for discussion was "The Teacher's
of the Community" which was led by
Bruce Klopp. The discussion resulted
as follows: Regarding the Rural Tea-
chers' salary, it was decided that she
or he should receive more than a city
stenographer, because of her respon-
sibility with children. She or he
should receive less than the local min-
ister because lef his greater school
expenses. The teacher shouid receive
less than that of the Agricultural
Rep., because of his greater area,
of work. The rural teacher should
receive more than the teacher of a
one -room in 'town.
In case of the second question, If
we expect to have better trained
teachers and more modern schools,
we should DI- must have larger •Gov
eminent grants rather than higher.
taxes. The last question was ans-
wered by one member as follows:
"The most a rural teacher can con-
tribute to the community is to line in
it, take an active part in all rural
organizations, etc. and finally, marry
and live in that community." The
next meeting will be held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Pep-
per.

'T Aint Runnin' 'No More,"
Wendell Holmes Ltd., London $1,
by Dr. W. Sherwood Fox, retired
president of the University of Wes-
tern Ontario, is one of those seldom -
found gems of delightful reading—
reading made more pleasant by the
30 -odd sketches by Clare Bice, not-
ed Canadian artist. In these days of
history told through the lips and es-
capades of notorious characters of
fiction, it is a refreshing change to
find the natural history of a small
area told in the facts and pictures of
nature. Send for your copy and
have extra copies come for your fri-
