and encouraging to those interested
in a summer home in that locality.

Had Birthday
Your publisher in his modest-1,,vay
on Tuesday celebrated his 60th birth-
day, had it not been for the even I
decade figure .we should not have
mentioned it, as t:'iling our age once!
every ten years should suffice.. But
the years creep up 011 us and we
can't do a thing about it. A , year
ago, we had. just returned from the
hospital and were unable to get out
our paper for the balance of the year
but to -day we are grateful to Prov-
idence that we are feeling fine and •
enjoy doing our weekly wcrk,.. and.
hope we are spared to do' sofor
many more years. ---Thanks!
Winter I Here!
With the beginning of the week,
namely Monday, winter has arrivsd
with about six inch's of snow that
well blankets the ground, and then
going with thi' is colder weather, as
the mercury has dropped down to
the twenties. Just, as nice and' psr-
fect a day as we had on 'Sunday,
just as rough it was Monday and
Tuesday. Storm signals were up at
the lake :.hipping point.; and it was
dangerous to venture out on the
water, but to -day, Wednesday _it is
moderating a bit, but the barometer
still has not gone over to the all
clear, that we would like to see. But
we have' • had an exceptionally nice,
fall, in October a record for sun-
shine every day of the month, and
November had a lot of fine days. So
don't grumble if Old King Winter
does show up a bit.
