eral. The usual pranks, etc, were

were Monday visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. .Elmore Thiel. They
were accempanied with Mr. and

who visited in this community for

was the guest speaker at the Evangel
ical church anniversary on Sunday
and delivered two very instructive

Mr.- and Mrs. Daniel Swantz and

Goderich were Sunday visitors . at
the home of the latter's parents, Mr
and Mrs. Christ Heist. Mrs. Keit-
ting being the guest soloist at the
Anniversary of the Evangelical
church on Sunday evening and ren-
dered two very impressive messages
in song. Her sister, Mrs. IL G. Hess
accompanied her on the piano,
Sold Lots
Mrs. Adeline Sararas has sold two
vacant building lots opposite the
Kalbfleisch Mills to Mr. Ivan Kalb-
fleisch. We are informed that homes
will in time be built on the lots,
which will help the housing problem'
which confront Zurich as well as
many other places.
Attended Funeral
Dr. and Mrs. H. H. Cowan and
family of Exeter; Mr. Charles Fritz
Miss Pearl Wurtz, Mr. and Mrs.
Ward Fritz of town, attended the'
funeral of the former's father at
Hanover on Tuesday. Much sym-
pathy is extended to the Cowan fam-
ily, •
Birthday Party - •
Mn, and Mrs. Edwin Gascho enter-
tained a group of children --one day
last week in honour of their young-
est daughter, Janet, who celebrated
her sixth birthday. The little guests
presented Janet with remembrance
gifts, for these she was very grate-
ful and with many thanks for their
kindness. A. suitable luncheon was
served and a good time was enjoyed
at the .fine afternoon. With best wish-,
for many more happy birthdays,
the children returned -to their homes.

on on Friday November 7th, accord-

TEMPERANCE FEDERATION
The annual convention of the Hu.
von County Temperance Federation is
to be held in 'Wesley -Willis United
Church, Clinton, Friday afternoon,
November 14. The chief discussion
will be on "The Temperance Act" as
it applies to Huron' County in view
of certain amendments made by the
'recent session of the 'Ontario Legis-
lature. Representatives from Peel
and Perth Counties which are also
under the CTA will be present, also
Royal Moulton, of the Ontario Tem-
perance Federation.
HITS TRUCK WITH BIKE
. • Orland Taylor, 14 yr. old son of
Mr.. and 'Mrs. Ross Taylor, Exeter,
met with a serious accident when he
was riding a bicycle with motor at-
tachment north on Wm. st., when he
ran into the back of a Parker Con-'
struction Co. truck that was travel-
ling west. Orland was thrown against
,the body of the truck and was rend-
ered unconscious. He suffered from
cuts .about the eye and had a scalp.
