A Correction
In our October 16th issue we pub-
lished an item of Mr. and Mrs. W.
A. Pei•kiffs of Detroit as visiting in
this, vicinity, and that Mrs. Perkins
was the former Mabel Etue north of
Drysdalee;thie should have been the
fernier Miss' Edna Etue.
Attended Funeral
Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gascho and
children, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Erb,
and Mrs. Rudy Schwartzentruber of
the Bronson line.; Mr, alid Mrs. Chris
Gascho of town attended the funeral
of Mrs. Amos Gascho's aunt, Mrs.
John Brennerman, a former resident
of Blake, whod •ied at Waterloo at
the home of her daughter,Mrs White
The funeral was held in the Rats, -
Bechtel Funeral Home anti burial
took place in St. Agatha church ce-
metery.
TO REBUILD HOTEL
Work has been commenced in pre-
paration for the rebuilding of the
Ritz Hotel, at Bayfield, which was
destroyed by fire two months ago.
The new building will be a two-
story frame structure, somewhat
larger than the old one, and will con-
tain 15 bedrooms. The owners, Mr.
and Mrs. T. C, Bailey, have award-
ed the contract -to the Kalbfleisch
Mills at Zurich.
HAD SHOWER
a :Friday evening last about 55 nei-
ghbours and friends gatherecr at the
home of Mr.- and Mrs. Harold Pen -
hale, Bronson line, Stanley, for a
miscellaneous shower in honor of Mr
and Mrs. Melvin Bennett. The even-
ing was spent by playing progressive
euchre. During the evening the bride
and groom were called forward and
an address was read by Mrs. Vernon
Oesch. Miss Ethel Watson and Miss
Betty. Jean Talbot then canned in a
leree basket well filled with lovely
gifts. The groom replied -pressing
thanks on behalf of Doris and, him-
self. After the gifts were opened, a; and squirrel neckpiece. On their
delicious lunch was served.. . return they will reside in Seaferth

in marriage to Joseph Denomme, son
of Mr. and ,Mrs. Reme Denomme
Rev. . Father Bourdeau officiated.
Given in marriage by her 'father, the
bride looke,deloVery in white net ov-
er ivory satiii'Veith fingertip veil. She
carried roses.' The Maid of honor,
Dolores Charrette, Sister of the oride
and the bridesmeid, Alva 'Denomme,
were gowned in yellow sheer. Marie
Denomme, sister of the bridegroom
was a flowergirl, frocked in blue net
over blue satin, and the ring -bearer
was Renee Denomme, brother of the
groom. After the ceremony a recep-
tion was held at St. Peter's parish
hall. The bride's mother received the
guests in a grey crepe dress with ,
shoulder bouquet of roses. The '
groom's mother wore black' crepe
with corsage of roses. After a short
trip the bride •and groom will make
their home in ,Goderich.

A pretty wedding was solemnized
in the United 'Church Parsonage, At-
wood, on Saturday October 18th, at
high noon when Rev. G. T. Simpson
united in marriage Laurene Matilda,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James
Broughton, Atwood, and Mr. Paul
James Corriveau, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Marcil Corriveau, of the 14th.

looked lovely in a floor -length gown
of white satin with high round neck-
line, bishop sleeves and fitted 'bod-
ice of eyelet nylon. Her etnger-tip
veil of silk net fell from a pleated
crown edged with pearls, and she
carried a shower bouquet of Amer-
ican Beauty roses. Her only orna-
ment was a double strand of pearls,
the gift of the groom. Miss . Anne
Broughton, Reg. N., Atwood, was
her sister's bridesmaid, wearrng a
floor -length gown of silver green
brocaded satin with headdress of
pink ostrich plumes and matching
lace mittens. She carried a nose-
gay of pink roses and baby chrysan-
theumums. Win. Broughton, Atwood
brother of the bride, was best man,

dinner was served to the immediate
families at the home 'of the bride's
parents, which was attractively dec-
orated with pink and white stream-
