bours, for their kindness and sym-
pathy shown them during their
recent sad bereavement. Also for

PASTOR ENTERS HOSPITAL
Because of ill health, Rev. La -
Verne Morgan, pastor of Trinity An-
glican Church, Bayfield, has resignz'
ed and will enter Queen Aiendra.
Sanitorium, London, for treatment..
At the close of the evening service
on. Sunday last, the wardens of the
three churches of which Rev. Morgan
was in charge, presented him with a
purse of money. Mr. Morgan conduc-
ted special Harvest ThanKsgiving
services with the assistance of Lloyd
Lake of Huron College, who will take
charge of the parish during the win-
ter months.
Womens" Institute
. The Zurich Branch of the W. I.
met in the Town Hall, on Monday
evening. The meeting was opened
by singing the Institute Ode. This
was followed by the Lord's Prayer.
The minutes were then react follow-
ed by the roll call. The business was
conducted by •the president, at
which time it was decided that the
lunch for each meeting be supplied
by the committee in charge. /Irs.
Rose was appointed delegate to at-
tend the three day convention to be
held at London with Mrs. Roche as
alternate. Mrs. Forrester, Mrs.
Roche and Mrs. Meyers provided
cars for one day each. At the close
of the business session Mrs. For-
rester took the chair. „Stella Rose

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R. C.
Church was the scene of a smart fall
wedding when Mary Catherine, da-
ughter of 3Ir. and Mrs. Patrick Sull-
ivan, was united in marriage to
Jerome Joseph, eldest son of 31r. and
Mrs. Albert Regier. Rev. 'Basil. Sull-
ivan, Toronto, uncle of the bride,
assisted by Rev. Father Fogarty, per-
formed the ceremony. The Bride was
given in marriap by her father and
carried a white prayer book. Miss
Mary Helen Sullivarewas her sister's'
Has Returned Horne
Mrs. Milton Oesch has returned
borne after being a patient in Clin-
ton Hospital. Her many friends wish
her. a speedy recovery.
Celebrate. Wedding Anniversary
Congratulations go to Mr. and Mrs
William Thiel who celebrated their
wedding anniversary on Sept. Nth.
Their children and grandchildren all
being present for the occasion. A
very enjoyable time was spent. Their
many relatives and friends along
with their children wish them many
more years of health and happiness.

Mr. Ervin Schilbe has improved
the front of his place of business

by the addition of new windows and
door, along with a new coat of paint.
A new office has been put in along
side of the weigh. scales and the buil-
ding is in good condition now to
serve the public for weighing along
with his coal business.

The ever popular and busy Zurich
Bakery has been sold the past week
to, Messrs, Allan Casella and Orville
Witmer, who have on Monday taken
pogsession. Mr. Leeland Willert,
who has been proprietor for the po't
feW years, has enjoyed a most won-
derful patronage of the community,

An interesting Lions meeting was
held on Monday evening at the re-
gular supper meeting in the Domin-
ion Hotel. There was a good at-
tendance, although sonic were miss-
ing owing to other activities. The
guest speaker for the evening was
Lion Elmer D. Bell, B. A., Barrister
of Exeter, who spoke on the Gov-
ermr.tent's taxation on Estates, and
advised how much confusion can be
avoided for thoe left behind if the
estate has been put into order, and
it will be a big help if the annual
income tax forms are being made
out each year. Lion Elmer r talk
was well received and very helpful.

OBITUARY
Jacob Deichert, Sr., Passus--
One of Zurich's elder and well
known residents in the person of
Jacob Deichert passed away on Fri-
day, October 3rd, at his home in
Zurich in his SOth year. Deceased
who was unmarried, was a member
of one of Zurich's pioneer families,
and if he could speak to us could re-
late many incidents and changes hi
the village since he was a boy in
