Had Flail Stones
hail stones, the size of walnuts,
fell in Exeter during a short storm
Moneay ,last. A few panes of glass
have been reported cracked or bro-
ken. W. j. Smith gathered up a few
of the hailstones and put them in the
ice, compartment of his refrigerator
and kept them for a few days.
Had Birthday Party
On Sunday a very happy event
was c'eiebrated at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Sylvanus Witmer of town
when a family gathering took place
in honor of Mr. Witmer who was
celebrating his 74th birthday. Most
of the members of the family were
present- and a very appropriate time
was enjoyed together. Supper was
served 'on the lovely lawn and the
table was amply supplied for the
satisfaction of all. Needless to say
it was a lovely event. And the best
of wi,'shes for many more such .occas-
ions'` °as expressed by all.

To Hold Ladies Night
The Zurich Lions Club have set
the date, Wednesday evening, Sept-
ember (17th as Ladies' Night, that is
they Will entertain their ladies, or
`Lionesses" to a supper and enter-
tainment. The event wart be held
at the same place as last year, The
Brenner House, Grand Bend, and
what a. big night it was a year ago,
but this year it shall also a big affair.
