Mr. and Mrs. Edw. 'Gascho and family had a very lovely week -end camping on Lake Huron shore. Mrs. Mervyn Steick visited for a week at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Smith, at Kippen. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oestreicher at- tended the Carrie Camp Meeting on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Fraser 6f Exe- ter were recent week -end visitors at the 'home of the latter's sister, :Mx. and Mrs. Ted. cSteinbach. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Thiel, bridal couple, have returned home after a pleasant trip through the northern country. Mr. and Mrs. W. Burk of Toronto are holidaying at the home of the latter's sister, Mr. and Mts. Wm. Witmer. Fine Rain Sunday "Just What the Doctor Ordered" is an old saying that surely holds good with the weatherman when he. let go that lovely shower on Sunday evening. We were some sixty miles from home, and the rain had visited everywhere we came along. Just enough to make thing perk up and how they are coming along- Crops lonbCrops are Growing As one drives through the country we cannot help but admire how the crops are coming along, although a bit later than some years, but the fall wheat and hay crops look very good and are coining along nicely. Some farmers are busy at the haying' already, and will get off to a -good start. One sees some lovely bean fields which are .coming along about as nice as we could hope for. They really look good as they are being cultivated. Corn also is doing well. HENSALL Hensall Town Hall, Friday evening June 27th was the scene of a delight- ful concert presented ;by. the Girl Guides and under the direction -of Mrs. .Stewart Bell. Captain, Miss Jenny Jolly, Lieut. Miss Roberta Kii.7by, Patrol Leader, announced the members, and Miess Gladys Luker was painist. Reeve Kerslake spoke briefly preceeding the concert, which opened with 'O'Canada, followed with the slogan, Motto; promise, and laws Emblems were presented to Orrin Stephan, Ruth Alexander, Betty Moir. A. very interesting program of suitable numbers were then played, and Reeve Kerslake was thanked for SI. Joseph and Heaver Town Mr. Hubert D'ucharme of Windser is visiting with his parents on the Blue Water Highway, Mr. Nelson Papinoati of Windsor was a week -end visitor with Mr. and Mrs L. Sararas, Mrs. Marancy Charrette of the Blue Water south, spent a raw days in London the past week.
