er, Clinton and .Blyth will be going
to Guelph on Friday, June 27th, to
participate in the Junior Farmers'
Annual Field Day at the Ontario Ag-
ricultural College. — It is expected'
that Western men coming East to
help with haying and harvest will
start arriving some time next week.
At present over 80 applications are
on file and it is hoped that we will
get suffleient men to meet all de-
mands.
and Mrs. Chas. Dietrich of Mt: Car-
mel, is ill in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, having suffered a bad fract-
ure of the skull on Saturday l€ast.Mr.
Dietrich had brought the family to
Exeter to witness the parade„ :from
the Centralia Airport. On returning
home the little lad opened the rear
door of the car and he was drawn
out and landed on the pavement with
such force that his scalp was almost
torn off and his skull fractured,
BASEBALL NEWS
The Dashwood Tigers went on a
batting rampage Friday night as they
trounced St. Marys 21-5 on their
home diamond. After scoring twice,
in the first and five times in the sec-
ond, Dashwood put the game in the
bag with eight runs in the fifth.
Carl Heideman pitched the first 6
innings for Dashwood allowing three
runs, .five , hits and struck out eight.

Norman Durr finished the game giv-
ing up two runs, :two hits and fann-
ing two. Fletcher startea on the hill
for :St. Marys, being relieved by Hil-
debrand in the second with Graham
taking over in the big fifth inning.
. C. Wein and L. Haugh led the Dash
wood assault with four hits apiece,
while Heideman and R. Haugh picked
up three each and Hignell and L.
Durr two.
