with her daughter, Mrs. J. Swartz in
Detroit.
Miss Joan Paisley, who has been
attending Alma College, at St. Thom-
as, and has been with her uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Siebrt of
town, left on Saturday, for her home
in Worchester, Mass.

Mr. Bob Mittleholtz has returned
to hie plumbing duties -after nursing
a sprained ankle for some time.
Although it being very tender, .Bob

TO MEET IN EXETER
The annual meeting of the Agric-
ultural Societies of District No. 8 is
to be held in Exeter on Friday, June
27th. District No. 8 includes four co-
unties with about sixty societies. J.
A. Carroll, Supt. of Agricultural So-
cieties, Toronto, will be present.
Lady directors have been invited to
the meeting. A banquet, seating a-
bout 200 persons will be held at the
arena at 6.30. W. S. ,Stageaman, of
Petrolia is the president and Hugh
Berry, of Kirkton the secretary.

Wright—Elliott
A quiet but pretty wedding was sol
emnized at the United Church par-
sonage, Chatham on Saturday, June
7th when Rev. C. A. Park united in
marriage Georgia I. Elliott, niece of
Mrs. J. Simpson, of Chatham, to
Stewart C. Wright, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Wright, of Crediton. The
bride looked lovely in a pale blue

silk jersey street -length dress, p
plume headdress, pink gloves and
carried a bouquet of pink roses. A
double strand of pearls, the gift of
the groan, was her only jewellery.
The bride's, only attendant was her
friend, Miss Dolores Winter, of
London. She wore a pale pink dress
with blue plume headdress and blue
gloves and carried a nosegay of pink
roses. The groom was attended by
his brother-in-law, Ross Johnston of
Zurich. A wedding dinner was serv-
ed to about thirty-five guests at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich. The table
y was tastefully decorated with pink
and -white and centered with a three -
tiered wedding cake. . The groom's
gift to the bridesmaid was a piece of
Wedgewood china and to the best
man a collar arid tie set. Amid sho-
wers of confetti and good wishes the
happy couple left on a short honey-
moon. Oa their return they will re-
side at 163% Grand Ave., East
Chatham.

and Otto, all of Crediton; one sister
Mrs. Caroline Oesch of Zurich; 49
grandchildren, 36 great grandchil-
dren and one great great grandchild.
The body rested at the T. HarryHoff-
man Funeral Home, Dashwood and
then to the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Nelson Schenk from where the
funeral took place on Friday, June
20th at 2 p.m. Rev. M..Reuber of the
Evangelical U H. Church, officiated.
Interment was in Crediton Cemetery.
Late Mrs. William H. Talbot
The death occurred at her home in
Bayfield on June 3rd, of a highly re-
spected citizen in the per"son of Eli-
zabeth A. ,Stevens, widow of the late
William H. Talbot. The aeceased
was born in Stephen Township and
was married in Hensall, on May 212nd
1889 to. William Henry Talbot and
they made their home in Stanley Tp.
coming to Bayfield in 1929 when thr,y
retired from the farm on the Blue
Water Highway, now owned by his
son Leonard. Mrs. Talbot was a quiet
woman, devoted to her family and St
Andrew's United church of which
she was an active member in t''e '

cken with a heart condition 1:7;:t fall,
since then had been confiened to bed.
Surviving are: four daughters, Verdi
(Mrs. Will Cameron) Seaforth; Min-
nie (Mrs. E. Vodden) Woodham: Fa-
ther (Mrs. Lloyd Makins) Bayfield
Frieda (Mrs. Roy Scotehmer) Bron-
son Line, Stanley Twp; two sons,
(William R. and Leonard. Blue Water
Highway, ,Stanley Tp., and a sister,
Mrs. A. Murray, Eeetee. Was pre-
deceased by a daughter Lila and a
son Melvin, who died July 1937. A
brother and sister also tnedeceased.
The fnnernl was held Thursday, 5th
and was l-irgely attended, the service
was in charge of the pastor of St.
Andrev'stTnitea Chttrc'1. Rev. 1�. G.
Stoterbury. Interment was in the
Bayfield cemetery.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Elizabeth 'Pfaff, willow of the
late HenryPfaff, passed away at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac
Gower in Crediton Wednesday mor-
ning, June 18th in her 88th year.
With her husband she calve to Can-
ada in 1884 settling in Hay Town-
ship where they farmed for many
