son Carl, of the Blind Line, Hay,
attended a wedding in Waterloo on

Mr. and Mrs. Elzar Mousseau and
daughter of Kippen were Sunday
visitors at the home of the former's
.mother, Mrs. Alex. Mousseau, of
town.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Smith were
Sunday visitors at the home of their
niece, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Ross at
nSeaforth. Also visited the former"s
father, at Clinton.
Miss Margaret Fuss, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fuss, Parr line,
Hay, was among the graduating class
at the General Hospital, Stratford,
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Christ Haist and
granddaughter, Miss Pauline Hess,
motored to Goderich on Monday, the
latter remaining to attend her stud-
ies at the School of Commerce.
Mrs. Annie Tuerkheim spent a few
days in Stratford with her daughter,
Miss Irene ;R.N., also •attended the
Graduation of Nurses exercises at
the 'General Hospital of that city.
Miss Joan Paisley, who has been
attending Alma College, at St. Thom-
as, has returned to her uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. fSiebrt,
before returning to her home in the
States, for a while,
The many friends of Mr. Andrew
F. Hess are pleased to hear that he
is progressing very favourably after
his illness and is able to attend to
some duties for the public at his
home in town.
Mr. and Mrs. Feral Haberer; Mr.
and Mrs. W:m. Decker and Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Decker attended the
nurses' graduation class of the Gen-
eral Hospital, -Stratford, where the
latter was amongst the ones to re-
ceive her deploma.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kaiser and Mrs
John Kaiser of Hensall moved into
the residence of W. McIntosh, Bruce
field. These were all former resid-
ents of Brucefield and are welcomed

Kippen and daughter, -ere recent
visitors in Hamilton and Niagara
Falls.
Last Wednesday evening a num-
ber of friends met at the acme of
Mr. and Mrs. Gladwin Westlake, of
the Blue Water Highway, Stanley,
the occasion being the 70th birthday
of Mrs. J. A. Carnie, mother of Mrs
Westlake. Mr. and Mrs Westlake
celebrated their tenth wedding anni-
versary at the same time. The even-
ing was sent in games, after which
lunch was served, bringing to a close
a most enjoyable evening.

crowd despite ,the busy season for
the farmers. Hon. James Gardiner,
minister of agriculture, gave district
farmers cheering news when he told
them they would -be surprised how
soon all the remaining controls wo-
uld be lifted by the Govt. He ''said,
although the seeding was two to three
weeks late in Western Canada, there
has been a greater proportion of ac-
reage sown. this year than in the past
few years. The minister was intro-
duced •by Dr. Hobbs Taylor, M.L.A.

trict farmers to the Fair.. Some
500 were present. There was a very
good showing in all the classes which
were well filledand keenly compet-
