This is thought will take place about the middle of June. The chief reason :for the end of rationing lay in pro- duction figures and the fact that the period of maximum output was at hand. Current butter holding have been estimated at more than 15,000,- 000 .pounds, or about a month's con- dumption for the entire country*. and reported 48 sick visits made, 11 bouquets and 4 dainties sent to sick and shut-ins. A dainty • lunch was served and the meeting closed with Mispah Benediction. NEW LIBERAL LEADER Toronto — The new leader of the Ontario Liberal Party is Farquhar R. Oliver, a 43 -year old farmer who admits a fondness for cigars and takes an occasional ,cocktail. HAD BANQUET Commemorating the founding of the 50th Anniversary of the Wein- ens' Institute, Hensall W. I. held a banquet Friday evening 16th in the banquet hall at the Commercial `Ho- tel. The tables a bower of beauty ar- tistically arranged in blue ane' gold, Institute colors; blue and gold tapers in silver holders decorated the tables with vases of daffodils and blue, by- acinbhes. A most delicious chicken dinner with all the trimmings_•: was served .topped off with a lovely birth- day cake adorned with 50 candles in blue and gold. 46 sat down to dine. Miss Florence Welsh .directed Cam- munity singing. The president, Mrs. A. W. Kerslake, gave the welcome and proposed a toast to the King, a toast to the Institute was proposed by Miss Gladys Luker, responded by Mrs. A. E. Munn. The guest speaker Mrs. Wilson Broadfoot, and Mrs. W. Doig, ISeaforth were introduced by Mrs. R. Elgie. Mrs. E. +L..Mickle and Miss F. The Lutheran Choir attended the Centennial Services at Se,bringville on Sunday, • Where •a mass meeting was held observing the one hund- redth anniversary of Missouri Synod of the Lutheran Church. Quite a number from town attended the ser- vices. The W. M. IS. of the Evangelical Church held their monthly meeting in the ,basement of the church as a Mother and Daughter meeting with Mrs. M. Haugh's group in charge. Mrs. Harold Kellerman occupied the chair and opened the meeting with a poem "Horne." The theme for the. evening was "(Partnership in the Home." The program consisted of the .scripture reading by Mrs. S. Wolfe. A reading by Mrs. M. Haugh and daughter and Mrs. G. Wildfong and daughter. A vocal duet by Mrs J. M. Tiernan and Nanclyn; readings, "Tributes to Mother" by Betty 'Geis- er and Ann Taylor followed by a poem given by Mrs. D. 'Tiernan At the close of the meeting Mrs. Burn was presented with a crystal bed -room lamp from the W.M.S. ' on Mr. Burn's retirement from the min- istry. The address was read by Mrs. G. Wildfong and Mrs. C. Geiser making the presentation.
