Flood Relief
A Provincial Collection of Clothing,
Food, and Cash Donations for British
Flood Relief is being held from
MAY lst to MAY 15th, 1947
The Hay Township Council has• ask-
ed the Teachers and Pupils to do
their best to help in this' work,for
the need is so urgent. Only contrib-.
utions of Clothing and Cash are re-,
quested in this Township. Teachers
will give temporally( receipts for
Cash Donations, and later, official,
receipts for Income Tax reduction.)

Womens' Institute
The Zurich Branch of the Wom-
ens' Institute held their regular, plae-
ce
on Monday evening. In
of their usual program they attend-
ed a public meeting on health spons-
ored by the Zurich Lions. Club. A
business session was held aZter the
meeting. It was decided to hold a
regular meeting in June and also to
hold their annual picnic in July. A
tasty lunch was served by the com-
mittee in charge.

The many friends of Mrs. Ed.
Beaver are pleased to hear that she
is getting along nicely after her re-
cent operation at Victoria Hospital,
London.. •
Attended Funeral
Mr. and Mrs. Christ Swartzentru-
per, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Erb and
MTS. Rudy 'Swartzentruber all of the
"Bronson line, attended the funeral in
Pigeon, Mich., of the late Mrs. John
Eicher. She was the former Barb-
era .Swartzentruber, was born and
wised in Hay Township.
British Flood Relief
The public are urged to contribute

was enjoyed by all present. It was
stated that this young CIub who is a
little over two years old, has the
highest points in the zone, surpassing
clubs like London and Windsor, and
the locals were congratulated on be-
ing one of the very best and live or-
ganizations of its kind. As was pre-
vio'asly" announced the Hon. Russell
T. Kelly, Minister of Health of Ont-
ario was the guest speaker, and he
being of Irish descendants, although
his mother was raised in Seaforth,
and his father at Wingham, which
