BIG i, ..HAND FOR sssosCO!
The demaud' for Can:acsan bacon
for the next fain years was etarified
when Hon J. G. Gardiner; Dorm. Min.
of Agriculture, recently announced
the resultet f. negotiations with the
British Ninstry of Food The contract
price. for Grade A Wiltshires per
100 pounds fob sea'bord was raised
to $25. effective April 1, .1946 and
will continue to December 511, 1947.
The price for the 1948 ,agreement
will be established later but wll not
be below $22.50, Following this an-
nouncement the Wartime Prices and
Trade Board declared an increase of
2? . cents per Ib, carcass basis. These
increases in bacon prices represent
an increase of approximately $8 per
hog. However, the quality premiums
of $8. per grade A carcass and $2.
on grade B carcass have been reduc-
ed by $1 so that the net increase is
I$2 per hog. This increased price, it
sis hoped, will add a. stimulus to hog
production

50 IRONING SOAKS
50 FOLDING LAWN CHAIRS..
Remember the old expression, "A
stitch in time saves nine"? This is,
particularly ,true when it comes to
making repairs around your home.
Often a small job done at once is
inexpensive; if delayed, it frequently
requit 's more time, money and mat-
erial to snake the necessary repairs.
A shortage of ready cash need not
delay you in making small repairs.
You can obtain money at 27 cents a
month for each $100 borrowed thr-
ough the Bank of Montreal's low-cost
personal loan plan, Such loans are
repayable in twelve monthly instal-
ments. There are no deductions, no
extras, no handling charges, Further-
more, when you get such aloan at
the I3 of M, you may be sure that
you are not asking a favour.
When repairs are necessary in
your home or when cash is required
for any good reason, drop r.r and see
the Bank of Montreal neighbourhood
Manager, llr. Sewell, He will be
glad to review your plans with you.
