Mr. Christ Heist who had been a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital for a
fractured ankle has returned home
and is feeling fine, although he is
nursing his leg in a cast.

Miss Doreen Schilbe spent a day
at London last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Oesch and
daughter, Donna were visitors 'near
Chesley with relatives and friends.
Miss Patricia O'Dwyer, nurse -in -
training at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, enjoyed a visit at the home
of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. P. J.
O'Dwyer, last week.
Mr. Gordon Hess visited friends at
,day night, to a well fillea nail. The
program had plenty of variety in it.
But we think the mellow tones of
those bells all rung by hand, just a-
bout took the cake of the show.
Elected Delegate
Mrs. Elmore Klapp was elected as
delegate to the Second Biennial Con-
vention of the W.M.S. which will be
held in the Zion. Lutheran church at
Pentbro+lie, on October 2+3-24. The
theme of this convention will be:
"Behold I stand at the Door and
knock." Mrs. Klopp intends to leave
next Monday to attend the meetings.
Hands Are Injured
Mrs. Newell Geiger received nasty
..gashes in her hands last week, while
'she was in the act of capping tom-
ato juice, when a bottle broke and
:cut both her hands. Medical aid was
given as soon as possible. Mrs. Gei-
'ger is progressing vdry favourably.

Sparks and daughter Patsy of De-
troit, were Saturday visitors at the
home of Mrs. J. Manson and Mr.
and Mrs. Newell Geiger.
Mr. ,and Mrs. John Modmann, of
Chesley, visited at the home of their
niece, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Oesch
last week. Mrs. .Mank, who had been
in that district for several weeks, re-
turned -to the latter's home where
;he will reside for the present.

45 Years Married'.
Mr. and Mrs. David Ducharme of
town, accompanied by their daughter,
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cohen
Russell of London, had a very pleas-
ant trip to Hamilton and Niagara
Fels over the week -end, and cele-
brating the 45th wedding annivers-
ary of the former couple. Their many
relatives and friends wish them many
more anniversaries with health and
happiness.
Died Suddenly,
The sudden death of the passing
of. Mrs. Peter Deichert, Sr., of the
Blind Line, Hay, on Tuesday even-
ing, was a great shock to the people
here.. Mrs. Deichert was about the
day as usual and had been in the
orchard picking up apples, wren she
was found unconscious lying on. the
ground, and never recovered, Heart
attack was the cause of death. The
funeral will take place at 2.30 o'clock
at the home of her son, =.r. Jacob
Deichert, Blind Line, on Friday af-
ternoon, followed by public service
in the Evangelical church, and in-
terment in the St. Peter's Lutheran
cemetery. The departed's pastor, Rev
E. Heimrich will officiate.
