Mr. and Mrs. William Gibbins of
London, are spending their vacation
in Zurich, visiting with Mrs. Giblbin's
parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Sylv. Witmer
and other friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Edighoffer on
Tuesday moved their household eff-
ects into the apartment rooms •above
the Johnston & Kaj'bfleiseh stores,
vacating part of the house owned by
Mr. and Mrs. Wes. Hughill next to
the new workshop and dwelling erect-
ed by Mr. Ivan Willerft.
Messrs. Gid Koehler, R. F. Stade,
Theo. Hatber+er, G. G. Sewell and Geo
Deichert were recently on a fishing
trip bo Meaford. Toon bad the boys
just hit an off time for the trout to
strike. But the boys had a fine out-
ing which is worth some thing.
Mr. Ross Johnston, accompanied by
his brother -nn -slaw, Mr. Stuart Wright
of Exeter, left on Sunday for the
Manatouldn Island, going by way of
North Bay, •and after a nice outing
will return by way of Tubbermory:
This makes indeed a very nice trip
by land and water.

weather for 'both harvesting and holi-
daying, the both are progressing as
well as could be expectea. .Many
campers are seen daily around town
shopping and trying to pick up some-
thing you can't get at home, and it
is usually quite a struggle to see who
will get there first, and in many in-
stances the merchant is a bit conser-
vative just to who he hands out these
goods and will consider his home
customers first, and why should he
not, these are'the people he depends
on the year around to do business
with.

of .Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Sewell, •who
att_Exeter High Seho•ol was the suc-
eessful winner of the Lions Club
Scholarship in Grade XI.
AUTO ACCIDENT
'What might have been a more ser -
lou accident oceurred on Saturday
evetiiing on the road from Hillsgreen
to ,"Kipped about 21k miles west of
Kiiepen when two cars cane together
heldon and did considerable damag-
es 'to both. B. Lehi, a passenger in
a Car driven by B. Lyndall, of Cldn-
tor% was taken to the Seaferbh Hos-
pital for treatment of injuried recei-
ved when their car collided with one
driven by Robt Baker, who lives
on' the sane road near Hillsgreen.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Baker were badly
shaken up, Mr. Baker sustained a
fractured arm, some leg bruises and
facial cuts, while Mrs. Baker
also badly cut and shaken up.

OBITUARY
Late Harrington Edward Finkbeiner

.Township had passed away leaving
his bereft wife and family ,to carry
on without their loving father. He
had been ailing for several years, and
finally his once a sturdy constitution.,
gave way and he passed on to the
life beyond this earth. He' was born
and raised near Crediton, and twenty
two years ago was united in mar-
riage to Annie Sclhillbe, daughter of
1VIr. and Mrs. Conrad Schilbe of
Zurich. They farmed on the Goshen
line, Hay Twp., these years, and
surviving are two sons, Howard and
Maurice and one daughter, Leona, a
brother, Ervin Finkbeiner and a sir=
ter, Mrs. A. Swartz both of Crediton,
survive. He was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Finlobeiner. The funeral
was held on Monday afternoon from
the family residence at two o'clock,
the public worship was held in the
Zurich Evangelical clhurch with Rev.
E. Heimrich, his pastor, officiating:
Intermrent followed in St. Peter's
Lutheran Cemetery. There was a
large eortage of relatives and friends
to pay their last respects to the de-
parted. The family have the most
sincere syinpathy of their many fri-
ends,

Meets Fatal Accident
Lorne D Manson, well-known Lon-
don farm equipment dealer, was fat-
ally shot near Camrose, Alta., on Tu-
esday of last week, and died shortly
after the accident. He was hunting
crows in the Camrose district, when
a shotgun in the hands of a compan-
ion accidently discharged. The charge
hit him in the stomach.. Mr:. Manson
left London, June 2:8 with his wife
and son, Murray age 10, on an auto
and trailer holiday trip to Western
Canada. He was about 46 years of
age and was born on the well known
Manson farm three miles north of
Zurich, his father being the late JoItn
A. Manson a former reeve of Stan-
ley Township. 14 years ago he mov-
ed to Thorndale for four years and
sine lived in London where he op -
elated a successful business. The
remains were brought to London
from where the funeral was held on
Tuesday at 3 o'clock from the A. M.
George Funeral Home with Rev. A.
Dallimcre, of Briseo Street Baptist
church officiated. Mt. Manson is sur-
vived by his wife, the former Edna
'Nrompson; n son Murray; one sister
Mrs. Isabel Horner, Toronto; two
brothers, Gordon of Dundas and Wil-
liam of Elimvale; a stepmother, Mrs,
Jahn 'Almon; a half -eider, Mrs.
Newell Geiger, Zurich; and two
half-brothers, Russell of * `.rzridl and
Donald of. Toronto.
