Rev and 1'1rs. Reuber of Crediton
called at the home of their former
church members, Mr. and Mrs. Chris.
Heist of Zurich and presented them
with a cut glass sandwich platter
from the Crediton Ladies Aid of the
Evangelical church, of which Mrs.
C. Haist had been an active member,
Following is the address:
Dear Mrs. Haist:—
There is an old adage which
says, "He who would have a friend
must show himself friendly."
This
has been the creed which you have
lived out among us, and now,
go that
yfrom our midst, we
are
feeld a deep sense of regret and loss.
On this last meeting together, we
tender to you, our sincere thanks for
your willing 'co-operation in all things team will get the good support of the

The house brought in from Rills -
green last Wednesday by Mr. Emil
Becker and helpers of Dashwood,
has finally found its location on the
good foundation previously prepared
for it. This stair of worrmen de-
serve much credit for the way they
manouvered this building through
the tangled meshes of Hydro Tele-
phone wires, trees and more trees,
along with crossing sidewatsa. We
were thinking, as a spectator, what
an abundance of patience these men
do have. But it's all in the trade.
Arid when it is all over with someone
usually happy !by having a home
or an additional building for their
daily use.
Lions Club News
Baseball in Zurich
Baseball is again making its ap-
pearance in Zurich, and just to what
pitch of enthusiasm it will be work-
ed up to remains to be seen, anyway
the Lions Club are sponsoring the
game but will not be playing it, as
it takes younger fellows to do this.
At any rate we hope there will be
a good enough team to win a few
games out of the schedule drawn up.
It takes years to develop a good hard
ball team, and we hope the Zurich
your kind hospitality which you
generously shared with ns and for
all your acts ,of kindness and help-
fulness.
As a small token of our esteem
and expression of our sincere ap-
preciation of your labours. among us,
we ask you to accept this gift. We
trust that its place in your home will
often bring back pleasant memories
of past days we have spent together .r
and thoughts of friendship that
never change or end.
Our best wishes for health and
happiness follow you both to your
new home.—The members of Ladies'
Aid and W.M•S., Crediton.

OBITUARY
Late Josiah Sararas
It is with deep regret that we re-
cord the passing of one of our early
pioneers of this community in the
person of Mr. Josiah Sararas of the
Blue Water south. The deceased had
from time to time been ailing with
heart attacks, but each time he
would rally so that he could he a-
round and do some work. But the
attack he suffered on Monday was
fatal and the end came on Tuesday
morning shortly after midnight. The
deceased was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. David Sararas who were
pioneer settlers of the district, and
was born on the old Sararas home .
just across the road from where he
spent his married life. Mr. Sararas
was a very good type of citizen, a
very good neighbour always ready to`
give a helping hand in times of need,
and in times when one felt depressed
he was ready to give words of
encouragement Mr. Sararas reaves
to .mourn his loss his wife, the former
Miss Adeline Miller; and two sons,
Leonard, his wife and daughter
Marjorie; and son Norman, all at the
family home; also three sisters,
(Jemimah) Mrs. henry Waiper of
near Zurich; (Lucinda) Mrs. Ed.. V.
Wilhelm, near Stratford; and (Ade-
lina) Mrs. Harry 'Taylor of ilruce-
field. The bereft family have the
sympathy of a large circle of friends.
Mr. &trams was in his 74th year.
The body is resting at his late resi-
dence, from where a brief funeral
service will take place on hu s ny,
May y ,10th, at 2 o'clock, p.m.,
