School „Area, and both Inspectors of
Huron County, Mr..Staples and Mr.
Kincaid were present and addressed
the meeting. Councillor Irvin Will-
ert acted as chairman, and at the
close numerous questions were asked.

Mr. T. Harry Hoffman, Superin-
tendent of the Evangelical Sunday
School, Dashwood, led the local S.S.
on Sunday morning to an =usual
large attendance. He spoke on three
things which constitute life: The
brain, lungs, and heart. This was a
very impressive paper, he also led
the singing in a very fine epirit and
favoured the gathering with a splen-
did solo. His Zurich friends will be
happy to have him back again in the
nem future.

STANLEY TOWNSHIP
Mr. and Mrs. Joim Baker of the
Town Line, Stanley, were recent vis-
itors to the former's father, Mr. Pet-
er Baker who is convalescing at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London, and who
celebrated His ninetieth birthday.
Stanley Council
Stanley Township Council held its
regular meeting in the Township Hall
April 1, at 8 p.m. with all members
present. Minutes of the previous me-
eting were read and adopted. Corres-
pondence as read and dealt with.
The following motions were passed:
That we pay Andrew Foote $10 for
right-of-way for winter roads for the
years from 1942 to 1945. That the
assessment roll for the Police Village
of Hayfield be accepted and Mr. Par-
ker be paid $55 salary. That John
Smith be engeged as caretaker for
Cenotaph. That 4,000 feet of snow
fence and 280 steel posts be purch-
ased from Lundy Fence Co. That
the Township purchase a four-wheel-
drive five -ton truck from the Four
Wheel Drive Truck Co, That gen-
eral voucher be passed and paid.
That road voucher No. 4 for $738.74
be passed and paid. That we adjourn
to meet May 6, at 1.80 p.m.

Dour Mrs. Meyers: A line 'of appre-
ciation to acknowledge receipt of the
very generous parcel I received from
your Institute.
No doubt the name Riley is not
so familiar, so I will explain how I
happened to be on the receiving end
of the parcel.
Perhaps when you receive this let-
ter Leonard will be back in dear old
Canada again. Before he left he
signed this expected parcel over to
me. I promised I would acknowledge
receipt of same, and such a nice
parcel it certainly is -worth the little
effort it takes. I'm sure preparing It

Planning For The Future
Dashwood Community Hall in Re-
creational Centre. Plane are being
made to erect a fine building to house
a community hall in re -creational
centre on the school property in Dash
wood, and later plans are made to
teach home economics end manuel
training. The Dashwood Business
Mens' Club are giving their whole
hearted support as well as the sur-
rounding community. This has been
a long felt need. in the future all
meetings of the community and Vil-
lage will have ample accomodition to
conduct such affairs. A public meet-
ing will be .called in the 110a? future,

nearly $14,000,000 annually
Damage—Gadding of cattle during the summer,
reduction in milk flow, loss in flesh, wast-
age of meat in infected carcasses, injured
hides.
Control ---Destroyed most easily in grub stage after
having reached the backs of cattle by
application of rotenone wash usually
procurable at drug stores and spray corn-
panies, with directions for using. Quan-
tity required approximately one pound of
powder for twenty cattle for three treat-
ments.
When to Treat ---Early in spring when grubs com-
mence dropping. Repeat twice at
monthly intervals.
How to Treat—Apply material with stiff brush and
rub in well.
Cost—Per animal, per treatment should not exceed
. two cents.
Savings -a -As much as 5 dollars per animal.
